I am currently preggie with my second child. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband and I have a beautiful little girl named [name_f]Ana[/name_f] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f].
We don’t yet know if we are having a boy or a girl, but have already decided on a second girls name : [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Georgina[/name_f].
We are really stumped on boy’s names. With our first, the only boy name we could agree on was [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m], but neither of us was quite sold on it and have scratched it off our list this time.
[name_m]Both[/name_m] of us come from European backgrounds, so the name need to be pronounceable for our families, plus be wearable here in Australia.
Middle name would probably be [name_m]George[/name_m] (my husband’s name), but isn’t set in stone.
Thanks for the suggestions ashleyjuliette,
I quite like [name_m]Lewis[/name_m], but husband isn’t convinced.
I suggested [name_m]Dominic[/name_m] when I was pregnant with [name_f]Ana[/name_f], but it was also shot down.
I actually like a lot of names - he is the one who needs the convincing
I think a good strong ALL boys name would pair
nicely with [name_m]George[/name_m].
For Example: mix and match as you like-
[name_m]Marius[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m] [name_m]Prospero[/name_m]
[name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m]
[name_m]Granville[/name_m] [name_m]Louis[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m]
[name_m]Beresford[/name_m] [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m] (insert last name) Nn. [name_m]Bear[/name_m] or [name_m]Ford[/name_m]
—or just—
[name_m]Beresford[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m]
—or—
[name_m]Beresford[/name_m] Wolstan [name_m]George[/name_m] - very distinguished sounding
[name_m]George[/name_m] Tresillian
[name_m]George[/name_m] Campion or vise vera
[name_m]Damian[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m]
[name_u]Orion[/name_u] [name_m]George[/name_m]
[name_u]Asa[/name_u] [name_m]George[/name_m]
Evrold [name_m]George[/name_m]
[name_m]George[/name_m] Adestan
Beollan [name_m]George[/name_m]
Biggles [name_m]George[/name_m]- a bit more quirky but fun and very old school
[name_m]Boris[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m] (insert last name)
[name_m]Llewellyn[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m]
[name_m]Ulrik[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m]
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m]
[name_m]George[/name_m] [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] Berdic or just [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] Berdic
[name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m] (insert last name)-kind of ascend upward toward last name
[name_m]Caspar[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m] or [name_m]Caspar[/name_m] [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] george since you said you like lewis.
I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] your taste. WDYT of:
[name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m]
[name_m]Hugh[/name_m] or [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m]
[name_m]Edmund[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m]
[name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m]
[name_u]Percy[/name_u] [name_m]George[/name_m]
Best of luck!
fourthseason : Great list. I love that you have suggested names that I would not have thought of. It is great to get a fresh perspective. I have added [name_m]Marius[/name_m], [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] and [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] to my list
sparrowfinch : Thanks for your suggestions
I especially love [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] and [name_m]Anton[/name_m] - [name_m]Anton[/name_m] is my brother’s name though, so that one is out unfortunately, but I will suggest [name_u]Theo[/name_u] to [name_m]George[/name_m]. I also quite like [name_m]John[/name_m]. I think it is a solid, strong and reliable sounding name. Also, I find that it isn’t used as a first name anymore as it is always bumped to the middle.
jem : I love [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] and [name_m]Harry[/name_m] too. I have thought about [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] a few times - my dad is [name_m]Tomislav[/name_m] (Croatian version of [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]) and I don’t know if it is too close. I have a weird thing about naming after someone who is still alive. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband is Greek, so his entire family is pretty much [name_m]George[/name_m], [name_u]Nick[/name_u], Yiannis, etc. It drives me a little bit crazy ha ha
kisa : Thank you I have added [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m], [name_u]Luca[/name_u] and [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] to my list of names. The rest might me a bit hard for our relatives to pronouce though.
ashleyjuliette : I rrreeeaaaaallllllyyyyy like [name_m]Leo[/name_m]. I think"[name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m]" sounds great and I think it goes nicely with [name_f]Ana[/name_f].
Thank you again for the suggestions everyone. I have a nice list to go back to my husband with. [name_m]Feel[/name_m] free to keep them coming
roxanne33 : I love [name_m]Stefan[/name_m] too - I have 2 brothers and a sister. One of my brothers is [name_m]Anton(which I LOVE) [/name_m] and the other is Stjepan (pronounced "St-ye-pahn) which is Croatian variation of [name_m]Stephen[/name_m]/[name_m]Steven[/name_m]/[name_m]Stefan[/name_m], so that one is out too.
But your friend has great taste naming her kids [name_f]Ana[/name_f] & [name_m]Stefan[/name_m]
I don’t really know too much about names in Australia, so I apologize if I suggest something weird. Based on the names you said you like that I think these would go well with [name_f]Ana[/name_f] (and maybe someday [name_f]Mary[/name_f] too):
[name_m]Milo[/name_m]
[name_m]Paul[/name_m]
[name_m]Silas[/name_m]
[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] ([name_m]Gabe[/name_m])
[name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] ([name_m]Ben[/name_m])
[name_u]Jude[/name_u]
[name_m]David[/name_m]
[name_m]Brian[/name_m]
[name_m]Oscar[/name_m]
shanade213 : [name_m]Raphael[/name_m] is my new fave! I would probably spell is [name_m]Rafael[/name_m] though. [name_u]LOVE[/name_u]. Hopefully I can get [name_m]George[/name_m] on board. [name_m]Rafael[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m] sounds so strong and handsome and I think it fits beautifully with [name_f]Ana[/name_f] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f].
jessicat11 : I really like [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] too - the only draw back for me is that people pronounce it “[name_f]Gabrielle[/name_f]” which drives me bananas!
apollonia : I like the sound of [name_m]Jacques[/name_m] [name_m]Fernando[/name_m] and I would love it on some one elses child, but not my style. I can just imagine my parents trying to pronounce “[name_m]Jacques[/name_m]” - it would be hilarious!
rkrd : Ariston caught my eye. Is it pronounced phonetically? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you know the origin / meaning of the name?
