I’m trying to decide whether to keep or toss it, and I think the right combo could be the deciding factor. I’ve never been that thrilled with my full [name]Zane[/name] combo, which is why I think I’m a bit wishy-washy about [name]Zane[/name] in general. I have two ideas I’ve been throwing around but I’m not entirely thrilled with either option. Any ideas? I think [name]Zane[/name] needs a fun, dashing sort of MN but I’d like it to be classic enough to fit in with my other favorites. A literary connection is always a bonus, too.
I like [name]Zane[/name] but I love names like [name]Shane[/name] and [name]Kane[/name] so much more so I have never been really at coming up with a middle name for it. I will give it a shot though. What about [name]Zane[/name] [name]Beckett[/name]? I think that has a lot of adventurous and dashing qualities Maybe
[name]Zane[/name] [name]Joshua[/name]
[name]Zane[/name] [name]Samuel[/name]
[name]Zane[/name] [name]Calvin[/name]
[name]Zane[/name] [name]Dominic[/name] - I really like that one seeing it written out
[name]Zane[/name] [name]Linus[/name]
[name]Zane[/name] [name]Avery[/name] - I think this one has a lot of what you are looking for too if you are not using [name]Avery[/name] as a FN
[name]Zane[/name] [name]Alexander[/name]
[name]Zane[/name] [name]Xavier[/name]
[name]Zane[/name] [name]Bailey[/name]
[name]Zane[/name] [name]Addison[/name] - I like this one a lot too.
I hope you like some of these. I think [name]Zane[/name] is very dominantly masculine and could work with a unisex MN without question
i love [name]Zane[/name]! It’s already dashing [name]IMO[/name]. So it will be a plus if it has a literary connection. I decided to give you a ton of literary names since I find [name]Zane[/name] dashing enough and most literary names seem to be classic. Authors too
Here’s some I think you’ll like:
[name]Zane[/name] [name]Atticus[/name] (To Kill a Mockingbird)
[name]Zane[/name] [name]Dorian[/name] (I actually had [name]Dorian[/name] [name]Zane[/name] on my list once so this is nice) (Picture of [name]Dorian[/name] [name]Gray[/name])
[name]Zane[/name] [name]Tristan[/name] ([name]Tristan[/name] and [name]Isolde[/name])
[name]Zane[/name] [name]Caspian[/name] ([name]Narnia[/name])
[name]Zane[/name] [name]Finch[/name] (To Kill a Mockingbird)
[name]Zane[/name] D’Artagnan (Three Muskateers)
[name]Zane[/name] [name]Rhett[/name] (Gone With the Wind)
[name]Zane[/name] [name]Sherlock[/name] (I actually really like this)
[name]Zane[/name] Mycroft ([name]Sherlock[/name] [name]Holmes[/name])
[name]Zane[/name] [name]Sebastian[/name] ([name]Sherlock[/name] [name]Holmes[/name])
[name]Zane[/name] [name]Edmond[/name] (Three Muskateers)
[name]Zane[/name] Tirian ([name]Narnia[/name])
[name]Zane[/name] [name]Winston[/name] (1984)
[name]Zane[/name] [name]Benjamin[/name] (Animal Farm)
I figure the literary connection should probably be meaningful to me somehow, like a literary connection I like, so I left the ones that were most meaningful to me. Some of them I liked, not really for the literary aspect, but just because I like them–I’d been considering [name]Zane[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] [name]Caspian[/name] or [name]Zane[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] [name]Joshua[/name] before, and I like that [name]Conrad[/name] is the name of the road my family grew up on–and I like [name]Elliot[/name], but more for the [name]Elliot[/name] family in [name]Jane[/name] [name]Austen[/name]'s Persuasion rather than T. S. [name]Eliot[/name].
Anything related to The Importance of Being [name]Ernest[/name], [name]Les[/name] Miserables, The [name]Scarlet[/name] Pimpernel, A Tale of Two Cities, anything [name]Shakespeare[/name] (but especially Twelfth [name]Night[/name] and Much [name]Ado[/name] about Nothing!), etc., would have the most meaning for me… and especially [name]Narnia[/name], which my kids likely will grow up on, both watching the movies and reading the novels. It’s just a thing in my family, haha. [name]Caspian[/name] seems the most usable to me–I’m not really crazy about [name]Edmund[/name], and while I like [name]Peter[/name], it sort of bores me now. There doesn’t really seem to be much more usable names, except for Aslan, I suppose, but when you think about how Aslan’s supposed to represent God, it’s a bit much to live up to…
What about [name]Zane[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] [name]Sidney[/name]? I really like that one, and it’s A Tale of Two Cities. I also like [name]Zane[/name] [name]Jarvis[/name] ____ haha.
I’m partial because I have a son named [name]Zane[/name], but I love [name]Zane[/name]. [name]Zane[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] [name]Caspian[/name] is brilliant! I love Much [name]Ado[/name] About Nothing, [name]Les[/name] Miserables and A Tale of Two Cities. The Chronicles of [name]Narnia[/name] are a favorite of mine and my kids, I’ve been reading them to [name]Piper[/name] and [name]Zane[/name]. Aislings to young right now to care really.
Some names from the literature you listed
[name]Zane[/name] [name]Sebastian[/name] :: from Twelfth [name]Night[/name]
[name]Zane[/name] Leonato :: from Much [name]Ado[/name]…
[name]Zane[/name] [name]Balthasar[/name] :: From Much [name]Ado[/name]…
[name]Zane[/name] [name]Algernon[/name] :: From Importance of Being [name]Earnest[/name]
[name]Zane[/name] [name]Felix[/name] :: From [name]Les[/name] Mis…even though the character is brutal
[name]Zane[/name] [name]Percy[/name] :: from [name]Scarlet[/name]…
[name]Zane[/name] [name]Cole[/name] :: from [name]Narnia[/name]
[name]Zane[/name] [name]Colin[/name] :: from [name]Narnia[/name]
[name]Zane[/name] [name]Corin[/name] :: from [name]Narnia[/name]…love it
[name]Zane[/name] [name]Cornelius[/name] :: from [name]Narnia[/name]
[name]Zane[/name] [name]Garrett[/name] :: from [name]Narnia[/name]
[name]Zane[/name] Tumnus :: obviously [name]Narnia[/name] and I think it sounds cool
Thanks! I agree–growing up with [name]Narnia[/name] is just so fun! I’m glad to hear your kids are loving it.
The tricky part about using a literary name is that I want it to be something that means something to me, but I also want the character with the name to actually be someone I want my child named after you know? I mean, I think The Importance of Being [name]Ernest[/name] is absolutely hilarious and perfect, and I think something like [name]Zane[/name] [name]Algernon[/name] would be such a cool name, but do I really want my kid named after [name]Algernon[/name] Wheeling? I mean, sure, he’s hilarious and I absolutely loved reading his part of the story, but I just don’t know if I would want my son named after him, you know?
And ahhh! Mr. Tumnus! I absolutely love Mr. Tumnus, haha. I just don’t know if it’s too weird of a name for me for it to actually work.
I had actually been thinking about [name]Percy[/name]/[name]Percival[/name]. I can’t imagine anyone cooler to be named after than the [name]Scarlet[/name] Pimpernel, but I’m not sure how I feel about [name]Zane[/name] [name]Percy[/name]/[name]Zane[/name] [name]Percival[/name]. I’ve never been too crazy about the name even though I love the story! I do love [name]Armand[/name], though, like crazy, and I always thought [name]Armand[/name] St. [name]Juste[/name] was so cool. So I’ve been thinking about [name]Zane[/name] [name]Armand[/name], but I’m not sure. I think I might like [name]Zane[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] [name]Christian[/name]/[name]Caspian[/name]/[name]Conrad[/name]/[name]Joshua[/name] more.
