Looking for an Arabic name… again

I’m looking for an Arabic name for my surprise baby. We don’t know the gender yet. Siblings are [name_f]Lorna[/name_f], [name_f]Sofia[/name_f], [name_m]Khaled[/name_m], and [name_f]Amira[/name_f].

Girls-

[name_f]Noura[/name_f] (my favorite)

[name_f]Yara[/name_f]

[name_f]Farrah[/name_f]

[name_f]Rita[/name_f] (DH’s favorite, my least favorite)

Boys-

[name_m]Yusuf[/name_m] (my favorite)

[name_m]Omar[/name_m]

[name_m]Tarek[/name_m]

[name_m]Khalil[/name_m]

[name_m]Adam[/name_m] (DH’s favorite. I like it, but find it unusable for a couple different reasons)

I like

[name_f]Yara[/name_f] and [name_m]Adam[/name_m]

I find DHs choices compliment the sibset best. [name_f]Farrah[/name_f] and [name_m]Omar[/name_m] also. IMO these help bring in the familiarity of [name_f]Sofia[/name_f] to the rest of the siblings names.

I like [name_f]Farrah[/name_f] and [name_m]Omar[/name_m]! No repeat letters or sounds. [name_f]Noura[/name_f] feels close to [name_f]Lorna[/name_f], for me.

I would take mom and dad’s least favorites off the list. I would say [name_m]Yusuf[/name_m] or [name_m]Tarek[/name_m] for a boy, [name_f]Noura[/name_f] or [name_f]Yara[/name_f] for a girl.

[name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_f]Noura[/name_f], but I also find it too close to [name_f]Lorna[/name_f]. Second choice would be [name_f]Yara[/name_f], though I actually quite like [name_f]Rita[/name_f] as well.

For boys, [name_m]Yusuf[/name_m] or [name_m]Tarek[/name_m] would be my picks.

My faves from the girls are [name_f]Yara[/name_f] & [name_f]Farrah[/name_f] :star:

For the boys I’m loving [name_m]Tarek[/name_m] (the others have a few sounds that are too similar to your children’s names) :seedling:

Your children are beautifully named!

My thoughts on your names

Noura ~ beautiful name that feels elegant, bright and soulful. I think she’s lovely with your other kiddos as well.

Yara ~ such a sweet fairy name with beautiful meanings she’s pretty and looks visually gorgeous. However a little trippy with Amir@

Farrah ~ oh I love Farrah she has this fun hippy bohemian spirit that sounds pretty with your kiddos and I love the meaning. This is my favourite in your sibling set.

Rita ~ clunky cool however I think very different from your children’s names therefore lacks cohesion.

Suggestions: Soraya, Yasmin, Inaya, Zariah, Vega, Imani, Maryam, Noor, Zaynab, Rana, Cala,
Nylah, Zariyah, Kamilah, Nadira + Radiyah.

Absolutely love Inaya, Soraya + Yasmin from my list for you.

Yusuf ~ completely agree with you Yusuf is lovely such a soft peaceful name that looks visually gorgeous. I think Yusuf is a lovely name that works with your kiddos.

Omar ~ for me I find Omar a little dated. I can see the appeal but I really associate it with the 80s/90s I grew up with a lot of Omar’s so for me it’s lost appeal.

Tarek ~ I can see the appeal but I’m not keen I find the overall sound harsh.

Khalil ~ I love Khalil I think he’s such a dreamy name however with big brother too similar in my eyes.

Adam ~ a lovely classic choice that feels universal and strong. I really like Adam. However Yusuf is my favourite.

Suggestions: Samir, Ibrahim, Musa, Hamza, Idris,
Malik, Altair, Rayan, Jamir, Zayn, Hassan, Zayd,
Ismail, Yahir, Nadim, Rafiq + Zakariyah

With your sibling set from my suggestions I love Zayd, Samir + Idris.

Hope this helps

I like Farrah the best - I like it anyway the most but also so everyone has their own starting letter. Yara second. I also find Lorna and Noura too similar, and Rita a little screechy (though it has a cool, old Hollywood association too).

I like Yusuf best of the boys. Khalil is too similar to Khaled. Tarek is intense / harsh sounding to my ear but I can see it has a youthful and energetic quality. I quite like Omar but it seems to be very popular - or used a lot in TV shows/movies? I agree it also seems a tad dated? Adam is a repeat A and I don’t think you’re going to go for it so I’d cross off!

You’ve had a lot of fab suggestions from @tori101! Good luck!

My favorite options are [name_f]Rita[/name_f] and [name_m]Yusef[/name_m]. [name_m]Other[/name_m] ideas:

[name_f]Aisha[/name_f]
[name_f]Alya[/name_f]
[name_f]Hafsa[/name_f]
[name_f]Halima[/name_f]
[name_f]Isra[/name_f]
[name_f]Malika[/name_f]
[name_f]Nadia[/name_f]
[name_f]Naila[/name_f]
[name_f]Zahra[/name_f]

[name_m]Adil[/name_m]
[name_m]Bilal[/name_m]
[name_m]Faris[/name_m]
[name_m]Junayd[/name_m]
[name_m]Nassim[/name_m]
[name_m]Rasul[/name_m]
[name_f]Rayyan[/name_f]
[name_m]Yasin[/name_m]
[name_m]Yasser[/name_m]

I think [name_f]Farrah[/name_f], [name_f]Yara[/name_f], [name_m]Yusuf[/name_m] or [name_m]Tarek[/name_m] work best with your other kids names in terms of style and sounds (fitting in but not sounding too similar)

I love [name_f]Farrah[/name_f] and [name_f]Yara[/name_f]! [name_m]Tarek[/name_m], [name_m]Khalil[/name_m] and [name_m]Yusuf[/name_m] are great too

Your children have beautiful names! I agree with the advice from other berries to remove each of your least liked names. [name_f]Noura[/name_f] and [name_m]Tarek[/name_m] are my favorites! [name_m]Khalil[/name_m] is a beautiful name but feels too close to [name_m]Khaled[/name_m] for me.

Good luck!
