[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there. I am new to this site. We are expecting our first next month. We don’t know the sex, want it to be a surprise.
Picking a boy name was easy. We are at a stalemate on a girl’s name. DH has come up with [name_f]Amanda[/name_f], [name_u]Julianne[/name_u], [name_u]Skylar[/name_u], and [name_f]Amber[/name_f]. I on the other hand, have recently fallen in love with the older names, [name_f]Emma[/name_f], [name_f]Ella[/name_f], [name_f]Ava[/name_f], [name_f]Claire[/name_f], [name_f]Savannah[/name_f], [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]…etc. I also love [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] (nn [name_u]Charlie[/name_u]) and [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Kate[/name_f])
I have always had a fondess for names like [name_f]Samantha[/name_f], and [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f], that can have a boyish sounding nickname…[name_u]Sam[/name_u] or [name_u]Alex[/name_u].
DH and I have [name_f]Samantha[/name_f], [name_f]Lauren[/name_f], [name_f]Megan[/name_f] and [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f] on a maybe list.
I think I would like a name that doesn’t have an “e” sounding nickname? IE…[name_f]Jennie[/name_f], [name_f]Katie[/name_f], [name_f]Annie[/name_f], etc…?
[name_f]My[/name_f] mother has passed away, so I would like to incorporate a family name in as well, possibly as a middle name. Middle name options would either be [name_f]Linn[/name_f], [name_f]Theresa[/name_f], or [name_f]Rose[/name_f].
As you can see, we are all over the map. Would love to hear any suggestions you may have, and maybe get some direction here. I would like to have a list of our top 3 to 5 names, before baby arrives, and then we can see what fits best once LO arrives.
Thanks so much!
