[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.
Here are my thoughts-
Girls:
Halston-I’m not a fan of this. I just don’t think that it has a very pleasant sound, & feels too harsh for a girl.
Eleanor-Love it! It’s one of my favorites. [name_m]Just[/name_m] a perfect balance of a vintage name that’s feminine w/out being frilly, smart, sweet & adventurous. It’s unfortunately a bit popular, but a classic. And I love the nns [name_f]Nellie[/name_f] & [name_f]Ellie[/name_f].
[name_f]Harriet[/name_f] (nn Hattie)-I think that [name_f]Hattie[/name_f] is super quirky, vintage & just adorable. I don’t mind it on its own, but do agree that it feels better as a nn. I’m not personally a huge fan of [name_f]Harriet[/name_f], because it feels a little clunky to me. But I really want to like it! I like it in theory, because it’s strong & old fashioned & interesting.
Elia-I feel like this would probably have spelling & pronunciation issues, but it’s nice looking & sounding anyway. [name_m]Just[/name_m] not terribly interesting, because [name_f]Aaliyah[/name_f] is so popular. And also other ‘Ellie’ names, even though I like them usually.
Lorelai-This sounds pretty. It’s kind of sing-song-y in a cheerful way. And it has nice nns of [name_f]Lora[/name_f], [name_f]Lulu[/name_f] or [name_f]Lola[/name_f] if you’re into those. The only thing is that this spelling drives me nuts. [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] just looks so much more balanced.
Marlowe-I don’t hate the sound, but it’s not my cup of tea. [name_m]Just[/name_m] a bit modern sounding, I guess.
Boys:
Brooks-See [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u]! It’s not an awful name. It just seems like it’s sort of a ‘now’ name, & I prefer more old fashioned. It’s rising quickly in popularity too.
Graeme-Ooh, so glad that you spelled [name_m]Graeme[/name_m] this way! I like it way more than [name_m]Graham[/name_m]. It feels less bland somehow, even though it’s the same name. It feels more kind & interesting.
Auden-It’s not bad. I think it’s used more for girls, although I agree that it feels more like a boy name. I prefer similar names like [name_u]Alden[/name_u] & [name_m]Aubin[/name_m] to [name_u]Auden[/name_u] for whatever reason.
Lawrence-It’s a good solid underused classic. I prefer [name_u]Laurence[/name_u], because apparently I’m very picky about spellings.
I love the nn [name_m]Lad[/name_m] here if you’re into that.
Gabriel-This is one of those boy names that’s completely masculine, but I still want to describe it as beautiful!
I really like it. And I especially love it for the nn [name_m]Gibby[/name_m], even though that’s not everyone’s cup of tea.
August-Very cool name. Soft & down to earth, but handsome & outdoorsy & manly too. It’s old fashioned but feels fresh. It has cute nns of [name_m]Augie[/name_m], [name_u]Gus[/name_u] & [name_m]Ace[/name_m].
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.
