[name]Hi[/name] Berries! [name]Haven[/name]'t ever posted before, but I’m a lifelong names enthusiast who is finally in The Relationship. We’ve started talking about having kids, and we share a very similar taste in names - somewhat obscure, historical names that are easy to nickname and not too difficult to spell. Our kids will have a hyphenate last name, two syllables hyphenated with one syllable, both names very short and easy to spell, so no one-syllable first names.
What I’d love from y’all is suggestions of other names that fit with the feel of what we have so far. We’ll work on narrowing it down once I actually get, y’know, knocked up. Heh.
GIRLS:
[name]Theodora[/name] (this is already agreed on as name #1 if we have a girl)
[name]Eleanor[/name]
[name]Octavia[/name]
[name]Evangeline[/name]
[name]Magnolia[/name]
[name]Margaret[/name]
[name]Beatrix[/name]
[name]Juniper[/name]
[name]Melisande[/name]
BOYS:
[name]Arthur[/name]
[name]Eamon[/name]
[name]Adlai[/name]
[name]Nathaniel[/name]
[name]Simon[/name]
[name]Jasper[/name]
[name]Abraham[/name]
[name]Ebenezer[/name] (this is a family name and I was kind of kidding when I suggested it to him, but he loves it and it has kind of rather caught my fancy)
[name]Obadiah[/name]
[name]Frederick[/name]
So as you can see - semi-obscure and historical but easily nicknameable. If you can think of any middle names that might go well, too, that’d be cool - the last two initials will be E and S, though,so be careful of what words you might spell. (For example - [name]Arthur[/name] [name]Caius[/name] would end up with the initials ACES. which is kind of cool, I think.)
Ooooo I like your style! Let’s see:
Girls:
[name]Elodie[/name] ([name]Ell[/name]-o-[name]DEE[/name])
[name]Hazel[/name]
[name]Orly[/name]
[name]Thora[/name] (couldn’t use if you used [name]Theodora[/name], but I think it’s very pretty so I mention it anyway!)
[name]June[/name]
[name]Coraline[/name]
BOYS:
[name]Edmund[/name]
[name]Silas[/name]
[name]Sawyer[/name]
[name]Sebastian[/name] ( I don’t know what’s up with all the S names)
[name]Jameson[/name]
You’ve hit the nail on the head with pretty much all of these! [name]Hazel[/name] is actually another name off the family tree and fits wonderfully with what we’re going for. I can’t use [name]Sebastian[/name] as my cousin’s baby just got that name, but it’s a favorite. [name]Edmund[/name] as well is excellent but too close to [name]Edward[/name], another family name. [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Coraline[/name] and [name]Elodie[/name] as well. The only one I’m not keen on is [name]Jameson[/name], which has the “-son” ending that is not really my style. Thank you! Any ideas for middle names?
