Looking for non-binary Berries to interview

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] Berries,

I’m [name_f]Sophie[/name_f], one of the editors of Nameberry, and I am writing an article about non-binary names. I’m interested in interviewing some of our non-binary members about names, so please respond to this thread or email sophie@nameberry.com if you would like to be involved!

Also, Berries, if you have any input on what you’d like to see in this article, please share below! I’d love to hear all of your suggestions.

Hello! I’m [name_f]Non[/name_f]-Binary and this sounds like fun, so I’d be more than happy to be interviewed. A lot of [name_f]Non[/name_f]-Binary people choose words instead of names due to finding the balancing act of how far towards male or female unisex names can be - I’ve seen people go for Bug, Knife, Frog, ect - but also things like [name_f]Bunny[/name_f] and [name_f]Bee[/name_f]. I think that would be an interesting thing to include in the article.

Mom of a nonbinary kiddo currently trying to find their permanent name. Would love to hear about other NB peeps’ process in choosing, including whether their family was supportive of their gender and how that played into their naming process. Other than that, just looking forward to possibly hearing some new name ideas for my kiddo. (They have a favorite that neither my husband nor I can really wrap our heads around, even though we are supportive of them changing their name. It’s causing some grief in us and some sad conflict between us and our kid, and none of us are happy about how that conflict is muddying our supportiveness of everything else in their transition. [name_f]Non[/name_f]-binary Berries would be welcome to PM me if you have anything to contribute privately as well.)

Absolutely — I definitely plan to include all of that and more. Good luck to your kiddo with finding their name!

It wouldn’t have to be mentioned in this particular piece but I think it would be great if NB discussed the topic of deadnames. It’s definitely different from the usual baby name talk (that I love) but it’s an important subject for many, and having another well-informed, thorough, helpful article about deadnames on the internet would be a great resource for those who don’t understand it or who are going through it.

That’s such a great idea. I imagine deadnames will be touched upon in this story, but it’s a huge topic — one that definitely warrants a separate post! I’ll bring it up with our editorial team.

Hi! I’m a genderfluid nonbinary person!
I just started looking for a name, and for me I want a more masculine name because my birth/deadname is very feminine.
some of the names I have looked at are;
remy, demi, malin, zared, dei, odi, and deimos,
this are just random names that I feel comfortable with someone calling me, and you can pretty much make any name nonbinary, or to fit you!
hope this helps! :blush:

Hello! Another non-binary berry willing to be interviewed, although I do go by my birth name and variants of it, so I don’t know if I would be particularly useful lol

Hi! I was actually hoping to interview someone who goes by their birth name as well. Send me an email and we can set something up!

If it’s not too late, I’d be willing to participate, though I’m actually closeted and name searching now, so I may not be quite what you’re looking for. However, I’m happy to help. I really appreciate you wanting to do this!
