Looking for opinions and middle names!

[name_m]Just[/name_m] found out we are having a girl! These are the names my husband and I are considering. Which ones are your favorites? I’d love some middle name ideas! Any other ideas for similar names we might like?

[name_f]Abigail[/name_f]
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]

Thanks!!

[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] !

I like [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] or [name_f]Jane[/name_f]. I think [name_f]CeCe[/name_f] is such a cute nickname! (Full disclosure my aunts name is [name_f]Celia[/name_f] and we call her [name_f]CeCe[/name_f].)

I like [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]! [name_f]Jane[/name_f] was on my list, but DH vetoed it because it’s “too plain.”

I think [name_f]Abigail[/name_f] nn [name_u]Abby[/name_u] is our current top contender but I worry that it’s too plain! I’ve always loved [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] but I worry about people misspelling it with the alternate spelling [name_f]Cecelia[/name_f]. My [name_m]SIL[/name_m] also mentioned that she likes it and we agreed whoever uses it first can have it, but that’s also somehow still holding me back! I am totally overthinking!!

I love [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]! Middles and alternatives:

[name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]
[name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]

[name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Margaret[/name_f]
[name_f]Philippa[/name_f]

I don’t know if you want two names of the same style or are you looking for something different as a middle name? I love something a bit shorter with long classic names, like [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] or [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u]. If you’re looking to combine some of these, I think [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] is beautiful.

Such beautiful names! You can’t go wrong. My favorite is probably [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f].

Classic romantic…I love that description of our style! I would like a short middle name. Our last name is 2 syllables, so a one syllable middle name would be perfect! You are spot on.

You have good taste, these are all great names.

Here’s my ranking of them:

  1. [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]
  2. [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]
  3. [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]
  4. [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
  5. [name_f]Abigail[/name_f]

I love [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]!

I love the names on your list! The first 3 were on my list if one my children had been a girl. We most likely would have used [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] since it’s my Mom’s name but I like [name_f]Abigail[/name_f]’s sound & feel best. [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] might be the most unique. If I were you, I’d bring this list of names to baby’s birth day & see which one she looks like after she’s born
Here’s my favourites in order:
1-[name_f]Abigail[/name_f]
2-[name_f]Caroline[/name_f]
3-[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
4-[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]

Possible mn:
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosa[/name_f]/[name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_u]Wren[/name_u]
[name_f]Estelle[/name_f]/[name_f]Stella[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucille[/name_f]

From your list my favorite is by far [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]. I love the nickname [name_f]Neve[/name_f].

Possible middles:
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] [name_f]Soleil[/name_f]

[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] [name_f]Lark[/name_f]
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] [name_f]Lune[/name_f]

Firstly, congratulations on your baby girl! [name_f]Abigail[/name_f] is a lovely name. I’m wondering what it is about [name_f]Abigail[/name_f] that seems a bit plain to you since it’s a similar style to the other names on your list. It’s feminine, strong and timeless. It’s remained a favourite for many years so perhaps it’s become overly familiar to you. It’s also quite common to have some doubts over your top pick. You get so used to searching for the right name it can be hard to make that final decision without wondering “what if?” In terms of nicknames, if you wanted something a bit different you could also go with [name_u]Bailey[/name_u] or [name_u]Billie[/name_u].

Some alternative names you might like: [name_f]Agatha[/name_f], [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f], [name_f]Annabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Arielle[/name_f], [name_f]Celeste[/name_f], [name_u]Eloise[/name_u], [name_f]Elara[/name_f], [name_f]Erica[/name_f], [name_f]Julia[/name_f], [name_f]Jemima[/name_f], [name_f]Melody[/name_f], [name_f]Marceline[/name_f], [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f], [name_f]Selena[/name_f]

As for middle names, I’ve stayed with your preferred one syllable: [name_f]Abigail[/name_f] [name_f]Faith[/name_f], [name_f]Abigail[/name_f] [name_f]Dawn[/name_f], [name_f]Abigail[/name_f] [name_u]Joan[/name_u], [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_f]Beth[/name_f], [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f], [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_u]Joyce[/name_u], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f], [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] [name_f]Gwen[/name_f], [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f], [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] [name_f]Elle[/name_f], [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] [name_u]Sage[/name_u], [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] [name_u]True[/name_u]
