Looking for Rare Ones

I’m always on the lookout for unexpected word and nature names. I love many of the regular ones mentioned on here ([name_f]Clover[/name_f], [name_f]Meadow[/name_f], [name_u]Atlas[/name_u], [name_m]Hawthorn[/name_m], etc) and many rarer ones ([name_m]Anthem[/name_m], [name_u]Quest[/name_u], [name_u]Solace[/name_u], etc). But I am looking for some completely new ideas. Something you never/rarely see.

An example: a recent word name discovery for me was Emblem. Also [name_u]Ardent[/name_u].

I don’t mind brave names or guilty pleasures. But I’d prefer nothing that’s unusable (I realize that’s subjective). What undiscovered gems do you have for me?

[name_f]My[/name_f] first thought is [name_u]Zenith[/name_u], which means the peak of something. [name_u]Zen[/name_u] would make a cute nickname

@itsjustjack [name_f]Saffron[/name_f] is one that is solidly on my list. And I have started appreciating [name_m]Fennec[/name_m] & [name_u]Yarrow[/name_u]. I love all the [name_u]Fen[/name_u]- names! Coda is cool, I love the sound. It feels like a less controversial version of [name_u]Dakota[/name_u].

@nymphnaps Why has Winnow never crossed my mind as a name! It is so innovative and adorable! This one definitely deserves more thought.
[name_m]Flores[/name_m] is so cool. I love that it means flowers.
[name_f]Mawar[/name_f] is new for me, such a delicate sound and it’s meaning is one of my favourite flowers!
I do appreciate [name_f]Marjoram[/name_f] (and even more [name_f]Marjolaine[/name_f]).
I’ve never heard of the name [name_f]Ebrel[/name_f] before, I like the sound.
Gwennol is another new one! I didn’t know this was a bird. It such a cool [name_f]Gwen[/name_f]- alternative.
[name_f]Saga[/name_f] is such a beauty. It would be a serious consideration for me, if I could get past the ‘sag’ part.

Thanks for the replies. I am definitely enthused to hear more, if anyone has.

@blueylit For some reason every time I try to open your link I just get ( 404## This page could not be found.). Not sure why! I’d love to see it.

Sonder is a very interesting option that has never been on my radar before. The meaning is so fascinating. This is the sort of names I’m looking for! Something completely new and unexpected.

@LibelluleClaire I do love [name_u]Solace[/name_u] alot. What makes it even better is the nickname [name_u]Sol[/name_u] or [name_m]Solly[/name_m]!
Variations of [name_u]Brave[/name_u] and Brightly, including those ones, have been on my lists in the past. I feel like they are too much to live up to as firsts, but I would definitely consider them in a MN spot!

This is a fantastic list!

My absolute favourite of them all might have to be Fairbrooke. It’s too lovely words, combined into one lovely name. What a pleasant imagery. Realm, [name_u]Solaris[/name_u] & [name_u]Valiant[/name_u] were fairly close behind Fairbrooke to enamour me as well. Realm is a completely new idea for me, great job!

Alpenglow, [name_u]Kodiak[/name_u], [name_u]Meridian[/name_u], [name_u]Tamarisk[/name_u] and [name_u]Taiga[/name_u] are on my list, so you’ve got my style down.

Cobalt and [name_m]Kuiper[/name_m] have been on my mind, and I haven’t quite made up my mind about them yet.

Cygnet/Cygnus, Corvus, [name_m]Parkes[/name_m], [name_m]Quiller[/name_m] and Summit all deserve some attention and thought from me. I’m really crushing on Cygnet.

The story of Roanoke is absolutely fascinating. Thank you for pointing me to that.

Tarka is a completely new word and name for me. I love discoveries like this! It has such a sharp, stunning sound.

You did a incredible job of coming up with new and exciting ideas!

I adore [name_u]Cirrus[/name_u]. It goes on and off my list, and I just re added it because of your post. I love anything to with the sky.

Courage would definitely be a middle name contender when it comes time to name a baby.

I have never came across Madrone before. That is a fantastic new nature find!

Novara is so beautiful. This is also a new one for me. Such a beautiful meaning as well. It would be a great way to use [name_u]Nova[/name_u] as a nickname, getting two lovely names in one!

I have never come across Triskele in my life. It is so intriguing. The sound and look are so curious and magical.

And my favourite of you entire list is probably Whimbrel. I don’t know why I’ve never considered this before! It has a nature connection, which is almost a requirement for me. And such a darling sound. I adore Whim- and [name_u]Win[/name_u]- names. [name_f]Whimsy[/name_f], one of my favourites, would make an adorable nickname for Whimbrel! Off to add this to my list. Thank you!
