Looking for suggestions/advice...

We have 5 kiddos and are expecting #6 in [name]October[/name]. We’ve narrowed down the potential boys names to [name]Malcolm[/name] and [name]Samuel[/name] (will most likely use [name]Samuel[/name]). Current kids are: [name]Juliette[/name] ([name]Jules[/name]) [name]Maura[/name], [name]Bella[/name] [name]Ryan[/name] (family name), [name]Mia[/name] [name]Sloane[/name], [name]Leo[/name] [name]Magnus[/name] and [name]Ronan[/name] [name]Arthur[/name].

Girls names are stumping us a bit…names we’ve discussed but aren’t 100% confidant about are:

[name]Lucinda[/name] (nickname [name]Indie[/name]), [name]Norah[/name], [name]Maris[/name], [name]Maren[/name], [name]India[/name] (family name).

Can you think of any others that “fit” better with our sibset?

I don’t want anymore Italian names (Latin, Irish, Scottish are fine)…we actually have mostly Irish/Scottish/French ancestry.
I don’t love names like [name]Arianna[/name], [name]Arielle[/name], [name]Breanna[/name] (not that there’s anything wrong with them) etc…
I don’t love unisex first names for girls.
I don’t love surnames as first names for girls.

I’d love first and middle name combination suggestions but just first names are appreciated as well.

Thanks so much!

What about [name]Nola[/name]

[name]Nola[/name] [name]Isolde[/name]
[name]Nola[/name] [name]Maren[/name]

Or
[name]Lucinda[/name] [name]Erin[/name]

I actually love [name]Nola[/name] (it was one of my top picks for our last daughter) but we have some relatively close friends who are having a daughter in [name]June[/name] and naming her [name]Nola[/name].

[name]Nola[/name] [name]Maren[/name] is beautiful.

Thanks!

I like [name]Norah[/name] the best with [name]Juliette[/name], [name]Bella[/name], [name]Mia[/name], [name]Leo[/name] and [name]Ronan[/name]. I think it’s more authentically Irish without the “h” at the end and I prefer [name]Nora[/name] myself. You may want to use family names are mn’s so here are some first name suggestions.

[name]Iris[/name]
[name]Brynn[/name]
[name]Cassia[/name]
[name]Alana[/name]
[name]Cecily[/name]
[name]Audrey[/name]
[name]Evelyn[/name]
[name]Sophie[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name]
[name]Fiona[/name]
[name]Ciara[/name]/[name]Keira[/name]
[name]Davina[/name]
[name]Elspeth[/name]
[name]Maeve[/name]
[name]Rose[/name]/[name]Roisin[/name] (ro-sheen)
[name]Niamh[/name] (neev)
[name]Kerensa[/name]
[name]Kathleen[/name]
[name]Grania[/name]
[name]Finola[/name]
[name]Isla[/name]
[name]Ailsa[/name]
Esmé
[name]Iona[/name]
[name]Aoife[/name] (ee-fuh)
[name]Flora[/name]/[name]Florence[/name]
[name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Imogen[/name]
[name]Beatrice[/name]/[name]Beatrix[/name]
[name]Cora[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name]
[name]Mariel[/name]
[name]Meredith[/name]
[name]Sabrina[/name]
[name]Jocelyn[/name]

[name]Isolde[/name] is nice…how is it pronounced exactly?

Ih-z/sohl-duh or ih-z/sold

The pronunciation of isolde seems to differ wildly, personally I prefer ee-zohl-duh with the e sound on the end & the s pronounced more like a z

Thanks so much [name]Mischa[/name]!

I like a lot of your suggestions, but the ones I like have mostly been nixed by my husband.
I should have mentioned that our last name is one syllable so I’m not sure names like, [name]Maeve[/name] (which i love) sound great with our last name. I love [name]Isla[/name] but is it too close to [name]Bella[/name]? Would having several names that end in ‘a’ bother you?

Thanks for all your suggestions!

My favorite from your list is [name]Maris[/name] - gorgeous name! Great suggestions above, too - here’s a few I thought of:

[name]Alice[/name]
[name]Cecile[/name]
[name]Eithne[/name] (probably difficult to pronounce outside of [name]Ireland[/name], but I think it’s gorgeous)
[name]Ivy[/name]
[name]Jessa[/name]
[name]Prisca[/name]

Looking at your names, [name]Isla[/name] jumped out at me as a good choice to go with [name]Juliette[/name], [name]Bella[/name], [name]Mia[/name], [name]Leo[/name] and [name]Ronan[/name]. [name]Isla[/name] [name]Maren[/name] is very pretty, [name]IMO[/name] or [name]Isla[/name] [name]Maeve[/name]. I don’t think it’s too close to [name]Bella[/name] or [name]Mia[/name] - lots of girls’ names end in “a”, it’s kind of tough to avoid.

Here are some other thoughts:

[name]Elise[/name]
[name]Fiona[/name]
[name]Alexa[/name]
[name]Daniela[/name]
[name]Seren[/name]
[name]Rosalie[/name]

I like [name]Fiona[/name] but hubby only thinks of [name]Princess[/name] [name]Fiona[/name] from Shrek. I’ve tried and tried to get him past it.

Thanks!

Also- I do like [name]Isla[/name] [name]Maren[/name]. [name]Lovely[/name]!

Thanks!

[name]Nola[/name] and [name]Isla[/name] are my favorite suggestions! Let me take a moment to gush over your kids names!gosh I just loooooove them!
Ok …that was fun…I really love [name]Nola[/name] [name]Maren[/name] though!

Thanks so much mollykat78!
I love [name]Nola[/name] [name]Maren[/name] as well but we have friends whose daughter is due to arrive in [name]June[/name] and they are using [name]Nola[/name].
Any other ideas?

[name]Norah[/name] is great with your other kids’ names.
