We are looking for the perfect first name…
Middle name will be [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] (was my grandma’s name & it’s very important for me to honor her). Our last name is 2 syllables & ends with an n, so for fluidity reasons, I don’t want the first name to end with an n if it’s 2 syllables long.
We ideally want something spunky & slightly less common. We also like the classics if they have great nickname possibility.
Names currently on our list…
(Names we love that don’t flow with [name_f]Birdie[/name_f]: [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f], [name_u]Darby[/name_u], [name_f]Millie[/name_f], [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] & [name_f]Hattie[/name_f])
Any suggestions from you fantastic namers? We just can’t seem to feel in awe with anything yet!
____ [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] two syllable surname ends in N:
[name_f]Geneva[/name_f]
[name_f]Veronica[/name_f]
[name_f]Vanessa[/name_f]
[name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Faith[/name_f]
[name_f]Liora[/name_f]
[name_f]Gwenyth[/name_f] or [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f]
[name_f]Natalia[/name_f]
[name_u]Gemini[/name_u]
[name_f]Gemma[/name_f]
[name_f]Juliette[/name_f]/[name_f]Juliet[/name_f]
[name_f]Nova[/name_f]
[name_u]Dominique[/name_u]
[name_f]Lucienne[/name_f] …not sure if this would work with the surname
[name_f]Elena[/name_f]
[name_f]Giselle[/name_f]
Thanks! We’ve actually had [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f], [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] & [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] on the list. [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] survived the longest, just recently getting crossed off the list. Friends of ours have an [name_f]Elena[/name_f] & a [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]! Great suggestions though.
What’ does your surname sound like? I think you should pick a first name as if [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] wasn’t in the picture-- then tack [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] on it, and let it be (unless it clashes horribly!) Not many people use their full name anyway. [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] is really cute though. I can’t imagine that many first names that it doesn’t sound okay with, besides word names. I’d avoid word names.
[name_m]Ah[/name_m], I see you said two sullable and ends in -n for surname. A first letter makes it easier to sort out options, but at least it doesn’t end in an -ee sound. (Ours does, it eliminates heaps of names unfortunately…)
Last name is [name_m]Houghton[/name_m] (“ho-ten”)
We have also had [name_f]Alice[/name_f], [name_f]Louisa[/name_f], [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] & [name_f]Rose[/name_f] on the list! [name_f]Love[/name_f] those … [name_m]Just[/name_m] don’t give us that wow feeling! [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] is actually a favorite of mine, the hubs is not as in love with it as I am!
But I also like [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] with the boys names and your surname. It has a bunch of spunky nn possibilities, including [name_f]Lottie[/name_f] (less popular than [name_u]Charley[/name_u]).
