Looking for the perfect first name...

We are looking for the perfect first name…
Middle name will be [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] (was my grandma’s name & it’s very important for me to honor her). Our last name is 2 syllables & ends with an n, so for fluidity reasons, I don’t want the first name to end with an n if it’s 2 syllables long.
We ideally want something spunky & slightly less common. We also like the classics if they have great nickname possibility.
Names currently on our list…

[name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Birdie[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Birdie[/name_f]
[name_f]Etta[/name_f] [name_f]Birdie[/name_f]
[name_u]Reese[/name_u] [name_f]Birdie[/name_f]

(Names we love that don’t flow with [name_f]Birdie[/name_f]: [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f], [name_u]Darby[/name_u], [name_f]Millie[/name_f], [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] & [name_f]Hattie[/name_f])

Any suggestions from you fantastic namers? We just can’t seem to feel in awe with anything yet!

____ [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] two syllable surname ends in N:

[name_f]Geneva[/name_f]
[name_f]Veronica[/name_f]
[name_f]Vanessa[/name_f]
[name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Faith[/name_f]
[name_f]Liora[/name_f]
[name_f]Gwenyth[/name_f] or [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f]
[name_f]Natalia[/name_f]
[name_u]Gemini[/name_u]
[name_f]Gemma[/name_f]
[name_f]Juliette[/name_f]/[name_f]Juliet[/name_f]
[name_f]Nova[/name_f]
[name_u]Dominique[/name_u]
[name_f]Lucienne[/name_f] …not sure if this would work with the surname
[name_f]Elena[/name_f]
[name_f]Giselle[/name_f]

Thanks! We’ve actually had [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f], [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] & [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] on the list. [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] survived the longest, just recently getting crossed off the list. Friends of ours have an [name_f]Elena[/name_f] & a [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]! Great suggestions though.

What’ does your surname sound like? I think you should pick a first name as if [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] wasn’t in the picture-- then tack [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] on it, and let it be (unless it clashes horribly!) Not many people use their full name anyway. [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] is really cute though. I can’t imagine that many first names that it doesn’t sound okay with, besides word names. I’d avoid word names.

Some ideas to consider, though:

[name_f]Cora[/name_f]
[name_f]Isadora[/name_f]
[name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_f]Annabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f]
[name_f]Gwendolin[/name_f]
[name_f]Guinevere[/name_f]
[name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Isabelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Isobel[/name_f]
[name_f]Jessamy[/name_f]
[name_f]Jessamine[/name_f]
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]
[name_f]Marina[/name_f]
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]

[name_m]Ah[/name_m], I see you said two sullable and ends in -n for surname. A first letter makes it easier to sort out options, but at least it doesn’t end in an -ee sound. (Ours does, it eliminates heaps of names unfortunately…)

Last name is [name_m]Houghton[/name_m] (“ho-ten”)
We have also had [name_f]Alice[/name_f], [name_f]Louisa[/name_f], [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] & [name_f]Rose[/name_f] on the list! [name_f]Love[/name_f] those … [name_m]Just[/name_m] don’t give us that wow feeling! [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] is actually a favorite of mine, the hubs is not as in love with it as I am!

If [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] wasn’t quite right, what about [name_f]Susannah[/name_f]?

my fav full version of [name_f]Millie[/name_f] is Millerna so i have to hype it since you listed it.

Millerna [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] has lots of spunk and balance while still staying feminine.

[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Birdie[/name_f]
[name_f]Felicia[/name_f] [name_f]Birdie[/name_f]
[name_f]Jillian[/name_f] [name_f]Birdie[/name_f]
[name_f]Eugenia[/name_f] [name_f]Birdie[/name_f]
[name_f]Augusta[/name_f] [name_f]Birdie[/name_f]
[name_f]Antonia[/name_f] [name_f]Birdie[/name_f]
[name_f]Ariella[/name_f] [name_f]Birdie[/name_f]
[name_f]Francesca[/name_f] [name_f]Birdie[/name_f]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Birdie[/name_f]
[name_f]Miranda[/name_f] [name_f]Birdie[/name_f]
[name_f]Rhiannon[/name_f] [name_f]Birdie[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucinda[/name_f] [name_f]Birdie[/name_f]
[name_f]Amira[/name_f] [name_f]Birdie[/name_f]
[name_f]Mattea[/name_f] [name_f]Birdie[/name_f]
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Birdie[/name_f]
[name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] [name_f]Birdie[/name_f]
[name_f]Jacinda[/name_f] [name_f]Birdie[/name_f]
[name_f]Annika[/name_f] [name_f]Birdie[/name_f]

[name_u]Carlisle[/name_u]
[name_f]Isadora[/name_f] ([name_f]Sadie[/name_f])
[name_f]Margot[/name_f]
[name_f]Celia[/name_f]
[name_f]Celeste[/name_f]
[name_f]Theodora[/name_f] ([name_f]Thea[/name_f])
[name_f]Camilla[/name_f] ([name_f]Millie[/name_f])
[name_f]Viola[/name_f]

[name_f]Annabel[/name_f] is my daughter’s name and we love it, so that would be a great choice. However I like some of the other suggestions:

[name_f]Matilda[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
[name_f]Cora[/name_f]

But I also like [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] with the boys names and your surname. It has a bunch of spunky nn possibilities, including [name_f]Lottie[/name_f] (less popular than [name_u]Charley[/name_u]).

Others:
[name_f]Scarlet[/name_f]
[name_f]Stella[/name_f]
Avaline
[name_f]Lila[/name_f]

Nothing to add, but I like the suggestion of [name_f]Francesca[/name_f] [name_f]Birdie[/name_f]. So sweet, elegant, yet unexpected.

I agree ^ [name_f]Francesca[/name_f] [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] is very much those things. I really like it!

[name_f]Willa[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
[name_f]Emma[/name_f]
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]/[name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]
[name_f]Mila[/name_f] (mee-lah)
[name_f]Leela[/name_f]
[name_f]Lola[/name_f]
[name_f]Lila[/name_f] (ly-lah) or (lil-ah)
[name_f]Lilia[/name_f]
[name_f]Lillian[/name_f]
[name_f]Winona[/name_f]
[name_f]Julia[/name_f]
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]
[name_f]Raina[/name_f]
[name_f]Cora[/name_f]
[name_f]Marina[/name_f]
[name_f]Viveca[/name_f]
[name_f]Delia[/name_f]
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f]

I would use [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] as a first name. [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] Darling.
