Looking for the perfect name.

[name_m]Hi[/name_m], guys. I’m looking (mostly) for an [name_f]Ella[/name_f] name, I think it’s pretty self explanatory but let me talk because I do that a lot. [name_u]Ever[/name_u] since I was a little girl I had an obsession with names that either were [name_f]Ella[/name_f] or had [name_f]Ella[/name_f] in it ([name_f]Ella[/name_f], [name_f]Luella[/name_f], Laella, [name_f]Gabriella[/name_f], [name_f]Ariella[/name_f] and the list goes on) as well as names you could take [name_f]Ella[/name_f] as a nickname for ([name_f]Eliza[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], [name_f]Eliana[/name_f] etc etc), probably thanks to my not-so-subtle obsession with [name_f]Cinderella[/name_f]. Well, I’m now pregnant with my first child and I really don’t wanna mess up on her name! I know that, if you love a name, there’s no way you’re messing it up but here’s the thing. Before I decided to give away my career to come to another country with my husband, I had a lot of trouble with my name. Explaining it right, my name sounded a lot like a doctor’s name, if you know what I mean. You know that name you hear and you can already imagine this exact person doing that exact thing? I really don’t want it for my baby because I, in my personal experience I mean, struggled with it because I used to be an actress. I was never in anything big but that’s how I made a living for myself and I can’t even begin to describe my struggle to find a stage name to myself that sounded a bit more versatile, I kinda became obsessed with names during that period (and have been visiting name pages for years before I actually had to decide on a name for my own baby. Thanks for existing, nameberry!) Anyway, the point is, I really like the way stage names sound, doesn’t matter if they are real or made up specifically to someone’s career like mine used to be and if you get the feeling of what I’m saying, I guess you guys know what I’m trying to explain and ask here. I have a lot of people in my family saying that having a name that’s “too good to be true” is just not a thing and can be really annoying and I honestly can’t understand why (but I know there are a lot of people who think that way so maybe I’m the one who’s wrong here lol). I really like to hear those names that make me just swoon because they fit perfectly! Anyway, let’s stop my ranting and go to the point. I might keep this thread up for a while and maybe even make more along the way because I really want to make the right choice but I’m the most indecisive person ever and I can’t decide anything without listening to other people’s opinions on stuff too. Is there any of the names I suggested (or hinted with the “[name_f]Ella[/name_f]” thing) that you guys would put along with the last name [name_u]Schuyler[/name_u] (for those of you who don’t know, it’s pronounced exactly like the name [name_u]Skyler[/name_u])? Also, question #2 are there any names that don’t fit in this category that you thing would be a good fit? I have a bunch of names I love on my list, I’ll drop them at the end of the post, but you know, some fit, some don’t but I think they can give a hint if any of you prefer to have something to keep in mind so you can suggest something else.
My favorites at the moment:
[name_f]Ella[/name_f] [name_u]Schuyler[/name_u]
[name_f]Gabriella[/name_f] [name_u]Schuyler[/name_u]

My no-no’s:
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_u]Schuyler[/name_u] because simply [name_m]Hamilton[/name_m], I love the combination though, if there’s anything that is close to that, my mind and heart are open!
[name_f]Nicole[/name_f], [name_f]Amanda[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] (even though I used it as an example), [name_u]Riley[/name_u], [name_f]Hayley[/name_f] or any name with ending in -ley honestly, also not a fan of the -lyn or -lynn’s.

Some names I love and may or may not be related to the ones I mentioned above: [name_u]Allison[/name_u] (though I’m just obsessed over the nickname [name_f]Alli[/name_f] which I can also take from [name_f]Alena[/name_f] (ah-lay-nuh) and [name_f]Alice[/name_f] which would be names #2 and #3 on this list), [name_f]Sofia[/name_f]/[name_f]Sophia[/name_f], [name_f]Isabella[/name_f], [name_f]Lenora[/name_f], [name_f]Aurora[/name_f], [name_f]Athena[/name_f], [name_f]Laura[/name_f] (wouldn’t use it) and [name_f]Maya[/name_f]/[name_f]Amaya[/name_f] though I wouldn’t take the first because it’s my niece’s name.

[name_f]Do[/name_f] you think you guys cand help a kinda desperate first time mommy who asks for a little too much? lol

I don’t know if I’m understanding your post correctly. You love [name_f]Ella[/name_f] and other variations, you like ‘stage names’ sound, you want names that fit into this category and names that don’t? I hope I got it all!

Honestly, based on your description I’d say just go with [name_f]Ella[/name_f]. It seems you’ve loved it forever and it seems like something you’d regret not using.

[name_f]Ella[/name_f] and [name_f]Gabriella[/name_f] are stunning, I really do think [name_f]Ella[/name_f] is the choice for you, you clearly love the name and [name_f]Ella[/name_f] is classic, timeless and beautiful.

Other [name_f]Ella[/name_f] names:
Eleska
[name_f]Elara[/name_f]
Eleadora
[name_f]Anaelle[/name_f]/Anaella
[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] (far fetched but I have a friend with this name and nn)

[name_f]Alessia[/name_f]
[name_f]Alyssa[/name_f]
[name_f]Mallory[/name_f]
[name_u]Kalani[/name_u]
[name_f]Alicia[/name_f]

Yes! I have a gift for talking too much and only confusing people, sorry for that. There are some really amazing suggestions in there, thank you so much!

I love both of them, I remember how I used to say my name was [name_f]Gabriella[/name_f] when I was a kid lol, then it just changed to [name_f]Ella[/name_f] as soon as I discovered [name_f]Cinderella[/name_f], I never called myself [name_f]Ella[/name_f] but half my dolls were [name_f]Ella[/name_f]'s. I love [name_f]Elara[/name_f], don’t think I’ve ever heard it around. Also love [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] and I can totally see it working, I always thought of [name_f]Adela[/name_f], but never [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]. [name_f]Alyssa[/name_f] and [name_f]Alicia[/name_f] aren’t really favorites, but I like them too. And [name_f]Alana[/name_f] is also one of my favorites, probably because coming from a portuguese-speaking family, [name_f]Alena[/name_f] (which is usually pronounced with the ‘ee’ sound in english, for us sounds just like [name_f]Alana[/name_f] for english speakers). Also love [name_u]Kalani[/name_u], such a beautiful name! Thank you.

My first thought was [name_u]Ellison[/name_u] because of what you said about wanting a name that could work with any personality. [name_u]Ellison[/name_u] is a bit boyish, so it works just fine for a tomboy, but [name_f]Ella[/name_f] is a very obvious nickname that would be a great fit for a more princess-y girl. A few others that have the same versatility and could be formal names for [name_f]Ella[/name_f]:
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f]
[name_u]Ellington[/name_u]
[name_f]Maelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Joelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleni[/name_f]
[name_m]Eliso[/name_m]
[name_f]Araceli[/name_f]
Ayelen
[name_f]Ayelet[/name_f]
[name_f]Daniela[/name_f]
Elixabete
[name_f]Raquel[/name_f]
[name_f]Zabel[/name_f]

I think [name_f]Ella[/name_f] is absolutely beautiful! I would embrace your long time love and quit looking.

I like [name_f]Mirella[/name_f] or [name_f]Marcella[/name_f].

Maybe [name_f]Mariella[/name_f]? I always find it super pretty.
