[name_m]Feel[/name_m] free to answer as many as you want. Thanks Berries!

It does feel slightly dated, but due to its similarity to a lot of on-trend names like [name_m]Ronan[/name_m], [name_m]Rylan[/name_m], [name_m]Leland[/name_m], [name_m]Roman[/name_m], [name_m]Rowan[/name_m] etc. I donā€™t think itā€™d feel out of place on a baby born in 2024!

To me it has very similar vibes to [name_m]Robin[/name_m] (b) ā€“ gentle, autumnal, down to earth.

It feels dated in a cute, retro, clunky way to me. I really like it! The Schittā€™s [name_m]Creek[/name_m] association turned me off at first but as time passes, Iā€™m definitely becoming a fan of the name.

Reminds me of fall, hot chocolate and apple cider, knit sweaters, warmth from the fireplace, wooden toys, red noses. :maple_leaf::scarf::coffee::socks::books::wood::teddy_bear::basket:

1. Is it dated?
Iā€™ve heard people say that it is, but I donā€™t think so!
2. What colors/scenery/vibes come to mind?
knights, red and gold, statues (of knights)
3. What are the positive/negative traits that come to mind/you imagine to be associated with someone named Roland?
noble, just, calm, maybe a bit snobby?

also: be prepared for it to mixed up with [name_m]Ronald[/name_m]

1. Is it dated?
I think itā€™s in just about the right place to make a comeback, with names like [name_m]Rowan[/name_m] and [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] becoming popular!

2. What colors/scenery/vibes come to mind?
[name_m]Dark[/name_m] browns, deep greens, and dusty grays. Deep in the forest in early [name_f]Winter[/name_f] type of vibes. The smell of pine trees. Pale blue skies, not a cloud in sight. A dusting of snow on the ground. Maybe a little Medieval-ish.

3. What are the positive/negative traits that come to mind/you imagine to be associated with someone named [name_m]Roland[/name_m]?
I almost immediately think of [name_m]Roland[/name_m] Hood from the show Once Upon a Time, who was a brave, sweet, lovely, caring, nature loving boy - so those are the traits that come to mind for me!

  1. It is, sort of, as in, it does feel very old man, but then, where I am, [name_m]Stanley[/name_m] is on trend, and I find that very old man too, so I guess itā€™s dated-but-with-the-potential-to-be-stylish?

Itā€™s got the [name_f]Ro[/name_f] of [name_m]Rowan[/name_m] and [name_m]Roman[/name_m] and -land of [name_m]Landon[/name_m], so I can see it happening.

  1. [name_f]Fairy[/name_f] tales, poems, knights, and legends, I think because of the Browning poem, the [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m] link, the Child [name_m]Rowland[/name_m] story; but I also get flat caps, old tweed coats and milk lorries, because the only [name_m]Roland[/name_m] Iā€™ve met was a milkman who wore the above :person_shrugging:

  2. I get brave, friendly and adventurous traits, confident but gentle, inventive and charming - I guess negative traits wise, a bit ā€˜leary-old-manā€™ vibes?

  1. A bit, yes.
  2. [name_m]Red[/name_m] - autumnal colours.
  3. None at all. It depends upon person to person.

It is a bit dated to me, but I think itā€™s still perfectly usable for a baby born now.

It reminds me of the manufacturer of musical instruments so synthesizers come to mind. It also reminds me of [name_f]Chanson[/name_f] de [name_m]Roland[/name_m], the medieval work of literature, which evokes a scenery with knights. The colour that matches [name_m]Roland[/name_m] best, is a rusty red.

Positive traits: musical talended, laid back
Negative traits: maybe not really focused on doing well in school? (But I donā€™t think thatā€™s necessarily a bad thing)

Roland

  1. I think itā€™s a tad dated, but certainly not unusable and I think its very masculine

  2. I think of very neutral, early tones with this name. Outdoorsyā€¦ā€¦:person_climbing:t2:šŸŒšŸ»ā€ā™‚ :mountain::camping::wood:

  3. No negative associations to this name
