My long time favorite is [name_f]Grace[/name_f] but I always get stumped on a middle name. We’d likely end up using [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] though. Hubby likes [name_f]Grace[/name_f] too and really wants to go with my favorite. His personal preference is [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]. For [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] we’d use [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] and I quite like that combo. I’ve struggled to have the confidence to go with my favorite because sometimes [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] does seem a bit vanilla.
Thoughts? Suggestions?
Siblings are P@ul, Cl@re, M@rk, K@th@rine, J@mes, and Andr3w. Last name is Tys0n.
Congratulations on your new baby on the way! [name_f]Grace[/name_f], [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], and [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] are all very classic names that never really go out of style and would go well with their siblings names! Personally, I prefer names that are a little less commonly heard but if you love grace [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] or [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], go for it! It’d probably be a bit weird to introduce a [name_f]Sophronia[/name_f] Moonbeam or other more out-there name at this point.
[name_f]Grace[/name_f] is beautiful! I do think that I would choose something rather than [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] for the middle. Is [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] an option? I think it’s a lovely combo. What about [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]? Still classic, but [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] has more flair and spunk than [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f].
[name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is quite beautiful and classic and timeless!
I also love [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f].
Both are stunning options!
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] is my cousin’s name, and I do think it’s nice. But I prefer [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], or as @bowtiful suggested, [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]. I think both are beautiful but [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] has just a touch more spark for me.
I’d use [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] as the first name. [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] or [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] would be so pretty
I have heard [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]/ [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] so many times it sounds very plain to me. They are both good classics though! I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]
Congratulations! I love all of your children’s names.
[name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is just gorgeous, and not vanilla, in my opinion. I think [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] would be beautiful, also.
Another suggestion is Jane, which has the same elegant feel as Grace.
I prefer [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] to [name_f]Grace[/name_f] and [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] to [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], so I personally prefer [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] to [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] (which does sound very bland to me). However, it sounds like YOU and DH love [name_f]Grace[/name_f] best, so go with [name_f]Grace[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] would be a bit more exciting and spice up the combo a bit for you? Or maybe [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]? I really like [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f].
I’m someone who doesn’t really like “filler-y” sounding middle names, yet [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] never really comes across as one to me, even though it is often used as such. Maybe it’s because I just love the name [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], period! [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is a little boring, but I think [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is a lovely, elegant combo, and so is [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]. I think I prefer [name_f]Grace[/name_f] with the last name, though. Both [name_f]Grace[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] are a little hissy with Tys0n, but the two-syllable [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] seems to emphasize it more than [name_f]Grace[/name_f].
I agree that [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is a great name, but my 4 year old son is named [name_u]James[/name_u] and they’re just too close. I also had to rule out [name_f]Anna[/name_f]/[name_f]Anne[/name_f] because my toddler is [name_m]Andrew[/name_m]. My husband probably finds [name_f]Anne[/name_f] and [name_f]Jane[/name_f] a little plain which is why he struggles with [name_f]Grace[/name_f] as well. I have no idea how I got him to love [name_u]Clare[/name_u]'s name!
[name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is a timeless classic that will never go out of style! It works for a baby, a teenager, a middle aged woman and a granny. It’s perfect as it is.
However, if you feel it’s a little too vanilla, why not put variations on the name or swap things about?
[name_f]Gracie[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] (love this!)
[name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]
[name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Libby[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] (I love this one too :D)
[name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Lilibet[/name_f] ([name_f]Lilibet[/name_f] is the [name_f]Queen[/name_f]'s nickname which I think is adorable)
My husband much prefers [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and it’s been his favorite for years. He just knows I care about names so much that he wants me to have my favorite! I can see his arguments in favor of [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] so it makes leaving her behind hard.
[name_f]Libby[/name_f] and [name_f]Lilibet[/name_f] remind me how much I love [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] as a first name. But I think I better be careful about adding more names to our list…
@lo: Sorry, I had forgotten about [name_u]James[/name_u] - [name_f]Jane[/name_f] and [name_u]James[/name_u] are way too close! Can you take [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] and [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] to the hospital, and decide when you meet her? Both names are absolutely classic and beautiful.
I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s what happens. I feel like we’ve been trying to choose our top girls name for years and I think I’ll torture myself until [name_u]June[/name_u]. I may try and call the baby by one or the other for a week and see how it feels.
[name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is beautiful! My real name is Graceland [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] but i go by [name_u]Grey[/name_u]. I’m in love with [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]!
