Lorelei and ........

So my journey to search for another name to go with [name]Lorelei[/name] has taken me on some journey  I love the name [name]Ava[/name] but I have come across at least 4 [name]Ava[/name]'s recently so need to find an alternative. Would love your thoughts on these -

Esmé - meaning [name]Emerald[/name] - a definite fav of mine and hubby!
[name]Elysia[/name] - from Elysian fields - another mythical name that goes well with the myth of [name]Lorelei[/name] the mermaid
[name]Iona[/name] - another lovely mythological name
[name]Elise[/name] - lovely and French

Many thanks!!!

I love [name]Iona[/name] and with [name]Lorelei[/name], it seems perfect.

I think [name]Elysia[/name] would be a wonderful choice, but if both you and your husband are so fond of [name]Esme[/name], that would also be great. All four of your choices are really nice though.

I like Esmé with [name]Lorelei[/name]. They seem equally special, if that makes sense. [name]Elise[/name] sounds nice with [name]Lorelei[/name], but it makes me think “that would be a nice middle name”, not “that’s a great sib name”. It just looks plain in comparison.

I am very torn between all of them…Gosh - decisions decisions!!! Thank you all!

[name]Elysia[/name] is beautiful! My husband’s name is from mythology and we have [name]Lorelei[/name] [name]Grace[/name] and [name]Phoebe[/name] [name]Claire[/name] ([name]Phoebe[/name] was a [name]Titan[/name] in Greek mythology), so I’m a huge fan of the mythology theme!

Fabulous names [name]Emily[/name]-rae!!! Yes - I love mythological names!!! Sometimes I think I may have to have 20 children to allow for all the names I love!!!

I completely agree. Go for Esmé!

[name]Esme[/name] or [name]Elysia[/name]

I really like [name]Esme[/name] and [name]Elysia[/name] as sisters for [name]Lorelei[/name].
I would probably choose [name]Esme[/name] over [name]Elysia[/name] because [name]Elysia[/name] and [name]Lorelei[/name] are just too “on the nose of mythology” for me. If you really love the mythology link I’d probably choose something that is a little less obvious something like [name]Irene[/name], [name]Pheobe[/name], [name]Iris[/name], [name]Aurora[/name], etc.

Yep - Esmé seems to be the one that I am thinking of

I love [name]Phoebe[/name] and [name]Iris[/name] too but there seem to be a lot of them too at the moment. I guess I just want something unusual and pretty that isn’t too leftfield

I like [name]Esme[/name] or [name]Elysia[/name].

I suggest [name]Isolde[/name] or its variation, [name]Iseult[/name], glorious heroine from the Arthurian legends!

my name is [name]Lorelei[/name]

I think all pair well with [name]Lorelei[/name], but my fave is [name]Esme[/name] followed by [name]Elysia[/name]

[name]Lorelei[/name] - my fave name.

Well, I guess I am the lone supporter of [name]Elise[/name]. I know a little [name]Lorelei[/name] and she is all sweetness and light. I think [name]Elise[/name] has the same feel. They both feel very southern belle. [name]Esme[/name] does not.

I think [name]Esme[/name] is lovely but honestly I don’t think any of your choices really go with [name]Lorelei[/name]. I would stick with something Germanic/Nordic. [name]Veronica[/name], [name]Greta[/name], [name]Freya[/name], [name]Annika[/name], [name]Anouk[/name], [name]Ingrid[/name], [name]Astrid[/name] are my thoughts. Good luck!

Another vote for [name]Esme[/name], it’s lovely next to [name]Lorelei[/name]! ([name]Ione[/name] would be my next choice, but it’s a distant second.)
I find [name]Elysia[/name] to be a bit too much and [name]Elise[/name] to be not enough. [name]Esme[/name] is perfect. Good luck! =]

Thank you everyone for your input - I really appreciate it!!! Esmé is a forerunner at the moment because it’s a name that we both love - we really are finding it difficult to names we both like! [name]One[/name] of my fave names ever is [name]Isabella[/name] but that is another one that has become far too popular. But [name]Lorelei[/name] and Esmé do have a very cute ring to it! And for those that liked [name]Elise[/name], [name]Iona[/name] and [name]Elysia[/name] - still love them too!!!
