Lorelei or Ophelia

Which one would you use and why?

My personal favourite is [name]Lorelei[/name], but [name]Ophelia[/name] is also very lovely. I can see why it’s a hard choice :). I think the main things to consider would be:

1 - Which one sounds better with your last name
2 - whether you’re worried about Opehlia being confused with [name]Olivia[/name], or becoming the next big thing as more people search for alternatives to [name]Olivia[/name]
3 - whether you’re worried about people thinking you named her after the show “The [name]Gilmore[/name] Girls”

I like [name]Lorelei[/name] but I think it’s not 100% appropriate for a ‘real’ name. Too mythical.
So I prefer [name]Ophelia[/name].

I love [name]Ophelia[/name]. I’m not so keen on [name]Lorelei[/name] at all. It reminds me of the [name]Gilmore[/name] Girls.

[name]Lorelei[/name] - def sounds younger/fresher to me

My favorite is [name]Lorelai[/name] ! I love the association of [name]Gilmore[/name] Girls. It’d be refreshing to meet a [name]Lorelai[/name].

I’ve never been a fan of [name]Ophelia[/name] in general, but also because of the character and the teasing potential with the pronunciation. But then again, any name is subject to teasing. If people can learn to accept [name]Juliet[/name], then I suppose the same can be done with [name]Ophelia[/name]!

[name]Both[/name] names are beautiful. It just depends on the flow with your last name, really.

Good luck with whatever name you choose! :]

My pick is [name]Lorelei[/name]. I only chose [name]Lorelei[/name] because it is actually a guilty pleasure of mine. [name]Ophelia[/name] is also lovely, but in a contest between the two, I think [name]Lorelei[/name] is just gorgeous!

I prefer [name]Lorelai[/name]… she was just a character on the show The Mentalist as well. [name]Ophelia[/name]… I only like O-fehl-eeah as the pronunciation and it just seems so depressing a name…

I Prefer the classic, euphonious [name]Ophelia[/name]. Vastly prefer it to [name]Lorelei[/name], which I think is slightly awkward to pronounce and essentially like naming your child “siren.”
