Lorenzo or Leo Middle?

I could use some help with our second son’s middle name. We’ve decided on [name]Miles[/name] for the first name, but can’t decide which middle works best. [name]Lorenzo[/name] is a family name on my husband’s side, and [name]Leo[/name] also has special meaning for us. We love both, which makes the decision harder. Our last name is a 4-syllable Italian (but easy to pronounce in English) surname that begins with the letter C.

What do you think sounds better:
[name]Miles[/name] [name]Lorenzo[/name] C--------
[name]Miles[/name] [name]Leo[/name] C--------

Also, our older child’s name is a 1-syllable first name with a 3-syllable Italian middle name. [name]Don[/name]'t need to be too matchy but would like them to go well together.

I appreciate any thoughts, help, advice! Thanks in advance!

I prefer [name]Leo[/name] as a name, but I think [name]Lorenzo[/name] flows better with [name]Miles[/name]. [name]Miles[/name] [name]Leo[/name] just sort of runs together - although something like [name]Miles[/name] [name]Leonard[/name] might be ok?

Wow, tough choice. I like them both! But perhaps it would help to know how the “C” of your last name is pronounced - is it pronounced “Ch”?

Our last name begins with a hard C sound as in car. Thanks for any and all help!

In that case, I have a slight (very slight, because I think both are good!) preference for [name]Miles[/name] [name]Lorenzo[/name] C.

[name]Lorenzo[/name] really takes the name up a notch! [name]Miles[/name] [name]Leo[/name] could be any modern kid in my hipster neighborhood, but [name]Miles[/name] [name]Lorenzo[/name] is dignified and a bit mysterious. [name]Love[/name]. It. And I’m not a huge [name]Miles[/name] fan most of the time.
Also, [name]Lorenzo[/name] contains [name]Leo[/name], so if there’s a sentimental connection to [name]Leo[/name], I think [name]Lorenzo[/name] has it covered.

I love [name]Miles[/name] [name]Lorenzo[/name]. That sounds like a very cool contemporary blues musician.

I like [name]Miles[/name] [name]Lorenzo[/name] too.

Thanks all for such thoughtful replies! We are still on the fence… My husband is actually a jazz musician and is leaning a bit more toward [name]Miles[/name] [name]Lorenzo[/name], but I don’t think I’m ready to give up [name]Leo[/name] just yet.

Would love to hear more opinions. Thanks again!!!

[name]Miles[/name] [name]Lorenzo[/name] by a mile(s). I think a longer name helps draw out [name]Miles[/name], and [name]Lorenzo[/name] is so much more swashbuckling than [name]Leo[/name].

Yep, another vote for [name]Miles[/name] [name]Lorenzo[/name]!

I love the name [name]Leo[/name]!

[name]Miles[/name] [name]Lorenzo[/name] all the way! [name]Lorenzo[/name] is a very handsome name.

Definitely [name]Miles[/name] [name]Lorenzo[/name]. So distinguished and handsome.

[name]Both[/name] great names but agree with everyone else that [name]Miles[/name] [name]Lorenzo[/name] has a much better flow. [name]Don[/name]'t know how settled you are on the order but I actually love [name]Lorenzo[/name] [name]Miles[/name] even more. (I also think you could get away with [name]Lorenzo[/name], nn [name]Leo[/name]…maybe…)

I’d go with [name]Lorenzo[/name], [name]Miles[/name] [name]Leo[/name] sounds incomplete.
