My husband and I having a girl! She’s due in Nov and we’re stuck on names. Her brothers are [name_u]West[/name_u] [name_m]Arrow[/name_m] [name_u]Jameson[/name_u] and [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_m]Apollo[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m].
We like to be a little creative with the first middle. We have a tradition to use family surnames as the second middle. The only surnames left to use is [name_m]Shepard[/name_m] or Kahler but I’m still not sure.
We don’t like names that are too frilly next to [name_u]West[/name_u] and [name_m]Tom[/name_m]. Our last name starts with C so we’d like to avoid C/K names. Other than that, our style is a bit of everything.
Hey! I’m not the best at coming up with names, but here are a few that I like:
(not sure if you liked a more vintage or modern feel, so here are a few of both…)
Nice suggestions! I like [name_f]Violet[/name_f], [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f], [name_f]Sadie[/name_f], [name_u]Teagan[/name_u], and [name_f]Ayla[/name_f].
As for the style, DH likes the country rustic names and double names. I like nature, unisex, and unique but still familiar.
In that case what about [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]? It is a classic name with history that was popular in the 19th century, but is also a floral/nature name. It also has a sort of country / southern charm to it. If you look up the meaning of flowers (in Victorian times each one had a certain “meaning” behind it) Magnolias stood for: dignity, nobility and perseverance. It’s feminine but not frilly, it’s unique (at #977) but everyone will know how to say it and it has nickname galore so that as you get to know your little girl, you can pick one that fits her: [name_f]Maggie[/name_f], [name_f]Madge[/name_f], [name_f]Meg[/name_f], [name_u]Noli[/name_u], [name_f]Nola[/name_f], [name_f]Nolia[/name_f], [name_f]Lola[/name_f], [name_f]Lia[/name_f].
