Lotus?

so i’m talking totally in the abstract here (as in I’m not planning to name anyone [name]Lotus[/name] anytime soon) but I find this name exceptionally appealing; it’s exotic, sophisticated, meaningful, has access to cool Lo nicknames, etc. Does anyone else agree? Also, what would you use as a middle name? I can’t think of anything that really goes with it. Ideas?

Part of my middle name means “lotus” so I’ve always liked it to. I’m afraid it might work better in the middle but I’ll try the first spot, maybe with something classic-ish. Hmmm, a middle name with an “L” sound (but not the first letter) seems to tie the two together and produce good flow.

[name]Lotus[/name]. Hmm…I’ve never thought about [name]Lotus[/name] before. I think it’s interesting, but I think of the car ([name]Lotus[/name] Esprit) and the blossom equally (probably because I watched “Pretty Woman” today, and there was a scene about his car, a [name]Lotus[/name]). I think [name]Lotus[/name] is very exotic and unexpected, but in a good way.

[name]Lotus[/name] [name]Aveline[/name] (not the best combo…)

Good luck!

Lots of lovely combinations from [name]Jill[/name] (as always :D) and [name]Peaches[/name].

[name]Lotus[/name] - A really unusual way of getting to the nn [name]Lottie[/name], perhaps? I do think of the flower, but for some reason I also think of a praying mantis, which scares me …

[name]Padma[/name] is an [name]Indian[/name] name meaning lotus, with varians such as Padmavati (posessing lotuses) and Padmini (full of lotuses). I think all of those are just so pretty and exotic!

I like [name]Lotus[/name] its one of my faves but i dont see it as a first name its more of a middle.

In “The Good [name]Earth[/name],” the novel by [name]Pearl[/name] S. [name]Buck[/name], [name]Lotus[/name] is the “tea house girl” (prostitute) that the main character takes as a concubine later in his life - she then goes on to become a rather unsavory, albeit lively, character.
The name is no doubt intended to represent the glamorousness of her youth - she was much sought after at the tea house - but as she ages and becomes even more and more of an embodiment of poor taste, the name is a stark reminder that all that glitters isn’t gold.
But, that’s just one book.

I really really like [name]Lotus[/name] for it’s beauty and spiritual significance. Some how I can’t bring myself to love the way it sounds though. Sounds a little like Locust. Lo is very cute nickname! [name]Lola[/name] would be a good alternative just use the nn Lo. Another option might be [name]Flora[/name] nn Lo instead of [name]Flo[/name] or Lorea which means flower.

Here are some names that mean [name]Lotus[/name] -

[name]Lian[/name]
[name]Kamala[/name]
Nalini
[name]Padma[/name]
[name]Ren[/name]
[name]Sen[/name]
[name]Shoshan[/name] (also found it meant lily)
Aravinda

We are considering [name]Lotus[/name] fr the upcoming little one :). Perhaps [name]Lotus[/name] [name]Love[/name] (nn [name]Lolo[/name]) or [name]Lotus[/name] [name]Blaze[/name], our other kids names are [name]Stone[/name] [name]Gardener[/name] and Mandala [name]Jade[/name] (nn Dali and Dali [name]Jade[/name]). Any thoughts or suggestions on like names would be much apppreciated… Criteria = interational, positive/happy, unusual but very easy to spell say.
