I love [name_f]Clover[/name_f]! [name_u]Lou[/name_u] is not my style but I can sort of see it. I would suggest spelling it [name_f]Lu[/name_f] though because I think people would be less likely to assume she’s a boy.

[name_f]Clover[/name_f] is very sweet and definitely growing on me. At first, quite honestly, I thought “cow name”, but after seeing it mentioned on here quite a bit recently, I’m definitely able to see the appeal. It’s cute and girly without being too cutesy, and I like that it doesn’t end in an -ee or -a sound like so many popular girls’ names.

[name_u]Lou[/name_u] is simple but pretty [name_f]IMO[/name_f]. I can see it suiting anyone - it could be chic, spunky, cute, tomboyish, preppy or homely, depending on the bearer. I like it and I find it refreshing that you’re considering such a short, unfussy name for a girl.

[name_f]Clover[/name_f] is a pretty name. It is charming and sweet. I also like [name_u]Lou[/name_u]…short and spunky…

I like [name_f]Clover[/name_f]. I don’t like [name_u]Lou[/name_u]… it sounds like “loo” (British and Australian slang for the toilet).

I love [name_u]Lou[/name_u]! And so does my husband…he was very fond of it. He kept throwing it in with name suggestions for our little girl. We finally settled on [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] and we’re going to call her [name_u]Josie[/name_u] [name_u]Lou[/name_u]! I say go for it!

Yes and yes! [name_f]Clover[/name_f] is at the top of our list for #3 at some point. Such a great, spunky name. We call our second daughter [name_f]Lu[/name_f], short for [name_f]Lula[/name_f]. We (well really just me, since my partner didn’t like it) thought about just [name_u]Lou[/name_u] for a while and I think it’s pretty charming. In the end, I didn’t want her to be mistaken for a boy and wanted her to have another option when she’s older, so we went with [name_f]Lula[/name_f].

i love [name_u]Lou[/name_u]!

I think [name_f]Clover[/name_f] is cute (and a nature name if you like that kind of thing).

I have a friend who named her daughter [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] nn. [name_u]Lou[/name_u]. If you do decide to go that route, I think [name_u]Lou[/name_u] as a nickname instead of a given would flow better and give her more options overall.

[name_f]Luella[/name_f]
[name_f]Louise[/name_f]/[name_f]Louisa[/name_f]
[name_f]Elouise[/name_f]/[name_f]Elouisa[/name_f]
[name_f]Luna[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucille[/name_f]/[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]

Or [name_f]Clover[/name_f] [name_u]Lou[/name_u]?

After reading your thoughts on the name [name_u]Lou[/name_u], I’m very seriously considering it!

However, the only middle name I can think of to go with it is “[name_f]Clementine[/name_f]”. It’s not overly used and it’s quirky, beautiful and feminine (to balance out the masculinity; or at least the perceived masculinity).

I was also thinking [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] [name_f]Clover[/name_f] as a way to bring one of my top names together with a favorite name of mine.

[name_f]Do[/name_f] either of these work? Suggestions?

I think [name_u]Lou[/name_u] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] and [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] [name_f]Clover[/name_f] both work really well.

[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] is just elaborate and frilly enough to “balance out” [name_u]Lou[/name_u], without making it any less sweet and quirky. [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] is one of my favourites and sounds stunning with [name_f]Clover[/name_f]. [name_u]Love[/name_u]!
