[name]Hi[/name] everyone,
My Mum recently suggested we use [name]Eloise[/name] for baby number 3 (if its a girl) as a combo name of our two sons, [name]Louis[/name] and [name]Edouard[/name]. She is not really on our short list, although I love the name and think my Mum has a cool idea, but I am curious as to if you think [name]Eloise[/name] is too similar in sound to [name]Louis[/name]. I personally think so, hence why she is not on our short list… But I’d love to here what you ‘experts’ think. So…WDYT?
Thanks!
LizaB
For me it’s too close to [name]Louis[/name], but it is a sweet idea.
I love [name]Eloise[/name]! This would be great with the [name]Louis[/name] & [name]Edouard[/name].
I think it’s a sweet idea but if there is a baby number 4 it would be so left out :(.
I find [name]Louis[/name] and [name]Eloise[/name] way too similar for siblings.
I fine them too similar also but lovely names.
I think it is a cute idea. I think [name]Eloise[/name] and [name]Louis[/name] are too close for siblings, but maybe [name]Eloise[/name] could go by a nickname such as [name]Ellie[/name]? If you had another child after [name]Eloise[/name], they would probably feel a little left out.
It’s too similar. Nice idea, though.
Yeah, that’s what I thought
Thanks for your feedback everyone!
I agree with the others: it’s cute, but too close to [name]Louis[/name]. BUT you can put it in the middle if you are in love with the idea. Then it’s still used, but she doesn’t go by it and you don’t get them confused.
[name]Louis[/name] is a family name, which is why [name]Eloise[/name] is first on my list. It’s the feminized form of [name]Louis[/name], and therefore much too close to use. It’s like having siblings named [name]Charles[/name] and [name]Charlotte[/name], or [name]Joseph[/name] and [name]Josephine[/name]. Sorry.
I like the idea! You could even do [name]Eloisa[/name]. I think it’d be adorable!
I like it and I don’t think they’re too close. But as another poster mentioned, what would you do for baby #4?
Hmmm… Maybe, you could do something else with the two names mixed together?.. Let me see if I can think of anything!!
I do really like [name]Lotus[/name]. If you have another baby you could do another name with an E? If you wanna stick you the [name]Lou[/name] sound what about any of the ones below? Or if you know you’re set on having a 4th, just go with any L name. If that’s case, I’ll help you look for those too!!
What about…
[name]Louella[/name]
[name]Louanna[/name]
[name]Luca[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name]
[name]Luciana[/name]
[name]Lucilla[/name]
[name]Lucille[/name]
[name]Lucinda[/name]
[name]Luna[/name]
If you have another child here are some cute E names that you could go with…
[name]Eldora[/name]
[name]Elaina[/name]
[name]Eleanor[/name]
[name]Elam[/name]
Eldor
[name]Elam[/name]
[name]Elliot[/name]
[name]Elise[/name]
[name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Ella[/name]
Elkan
[name]Ellen[/name]
[name]Elmer[/name]
[name]Elroy[/name]
[name]Ebony[/name]
[name]Eden[/name]
[name]Edison[/name]
[name]Edgar[/name]
[name]Edith[/name]
[name]Egor[/name]
[name]Esme[/name]
[name]Esmeralda[/name]
[name]Estelle[/name]
[name]Easton[/name]
[name]Ethel[/name]
Let me know what ya think! Good luck!!
WAYYY too close.
What about [name]Elodie[/name]?
Far to similar they almost rhyme!!!
Thanks everyone for confirming my thoughts. Hillary_Jeanne, and everyone else who gave ideas, thanks for all the great name suggestions but I actually would prefer NOT to have another E or L name, it was just that I thought my Mum’s idea was kinda cute, and [name]Eloise[/name] is such a great name. If its a girl (find out in less than 2 weeks!), she will probably be [name]Anna[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Josephine[/name] or [name]Maude[/name].
Thanks again everyone,
LizaB
