Hello! My husband and I are choosing between Louisa Pilar and Luisa Pilar.
I am Caucasian of European descent and he is Latino. Louise is a family name on my side. Pilar is a family name on his side.
I prefer the look of Louisa and the more direct connection to my family name, but wonder if the more traditionally Latina name Luisa is a better fit with middle name Pilar. But maybe, who cares? What do you think?
Also for nicknames - Lola or Lulu?? Thanks for your input!!

IM SO HAPPY SOMEONE IS USING PILAR!!! I cannot stress enough how happy I am to see [name_f]Pilar[/name_f] as your middle name choice!

If it’s a nickname for the whole world I think [name_f]Lola[/name_f], [name_f]Lulu[/name_f] feels more like a family nickname, but I do know someone who uses [name_f]Lulu[/name_f] in all situations (not just at home) and it totally works for her.
I prefer [name_f]Louisa[/name_f], personally.
Did you mean that [name_f]Pilar[/name_f] is a family name on his side? It’s beautiful!
If so, I personally prefer the [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] spelling for a more balanced representation of both sides of this baby’s heritage, as well as a closer link to your family name. It sounds like you prefer it too.

I love [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_f]Pilar[/name_f]! It’s a gorgeous representation of both of you. I’ve always adored [name_f]Pilar[/name_f]. I think my favorite nickname would combine [name_f]Lola[/name_f] and [name_f]Lulu[/name_f] into [name_f]Lula[/name_f], actually.
I have a 5 year old [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] 
so I obviously love this name! We are of [name_m]German[/name_m] descent and pronounce the name with the “z” pronunciation, but we get a lot of people who pronounce it with a hard “s.” I don’t really mind either way (I think both pronunciations are beautiful!) but if you prefer it to be said one way over the other, I think the [name_f]Luisa[/name_f] spelling will be more inclined to get that hard “s” pronunciation while [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] lends itself more to the “z.” But that is just in our experience! (interestingly enough, my daughter has started to tell us she prefers it pronounced with the hard “s”!)
We call her LouLou or just [name_u]Lou[/name_u] a lot
[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Pilar[/name_f] as a middle - so pretty and unexpected! I know a 16 year old [name_f]Pilar[/name_f] who wears it well!

Having many Spanish and Catalan friends I gravitate towards [name_f]Luisa[/name_f] [name_f]Pilar[/name_f], but I think [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_f]Pilar[/name_f] is probably your best choice as it represents both of you.
I’m not sure I like a nn for [name_f]Louisa[/name_f], but it always depends on the baby, doesn’t it? We called our daughter Miss Bug for ages before we settled on [name_f]Kate[/name_f].
I like both and think it very much depends on where you live! In an [name_f]English[/name_f] or French-speaking country I would go with [name_f]Louisa[/name_f], otherwise I like the simplicity of [name_f]Luisa[/name_f] with [name_f]Pilar[/name_f], but both are lovely!

I love the name [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] and prefer that spelling too. [name_f]Lola[/name_f] and [name_f]Lulu[/name_f] are both cute nicknames, and I love Lou/Lu as well!
Both spellings are truly stunning! One of the best combinations I’ve seen on here I think!!
I’m inclined to the [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] spelling personally, and I also like the more direct link to your heritage! [name_f]Luisa[/name_f] though is also a great choice and does look nice with [name_f]Pilar[/name_f] 
I prefer [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_f]Pilar[/name_f]! I think either [name_f]Lulu[/name_f] or [name_f]Lola[/name_f] could work as a nickname too!

I like how balanced [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_f]Pilar[/name_f] looks, and that it combines both of her heritages.
I prefer [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_f]Pilar[/name_f], I think it’s the easier spelling and I like the way it looks better. 
I was originally going to say [name_f]Luisa[/name_f] is a better fit with [name_f]Pilar[/name_f], but after reading your explanation, I love [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] for you! I think [name_f]Lulu[/name_f] and [name_f]Lola[/name_f] are both lovely nicknames.
