[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] (I don’t care about the literary connection)
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] (nickname would be [name_f]Cora[/name_f])
[name_f]Cora[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f]
I think [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] is my overall favorite. Nickname would be [name_f]Lulu[/name_f] or [name_f]Lu[/name_f] but mostly just [name_f]Louisa[/name_f]. I like the uniqueness of [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f], nickname options ([name_f]Cora[/name_f] and [name_f]Delia[/name_f]), and the [name_f]Anne[/name_f] of [name_u]Green[/name_u] Gables connection. I love the simplicity of [name_f]Cora[/name_f] and the fact that it’s somewhat old fashioned but I don’t like that it has a trendy feel right now.
Other favorites of mine are [name_m]Linus[/name_m], [name_m]Felix[/name_m], and [name_f]Josephine[/name_f].
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] is also my favorite. It is beautiful, timeless, and open to many nicknames. [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] obviously flows very well!
I know [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] is a nameberry favorite, but I’ve never liked it. [name_f]Cora[/name_f] is OK but I prefer [name_f]Cara[/name_f].
As another option, have you considered [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f], or [name_f]Cora[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]? [name_m]Just[/name_m] trying to combine your favorites!
Oh, this is so tough. I love all of these names. I don’t think I have a favorite out of these. Here are the reasons that I love them:
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f]: unpopular, yet very recognizable; I consider this a “little black dress” of names. I love [name_u]Lou[/name_u] or [name_f]Lulu[/name_f] as nicknames. It makes me think of the Sound of [name_f]Music[/name_f], which I [name_f]LOVE[/name_f]. She will always be the only one with the name, which can be really good and memorable. No [name_u]Ashley[/name_u] A. or [name_u]Ashley[/name_u] B.
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]: Oh, sweet [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]. I really like the meaning of the name and it reminds me of mermaids. Definitely an older name, but such wonderful vintage flair! I love the nickname [name_f]Cora[/name_f]. There was someone in my family tree a bunch of generations back in [name_f]England[/name_f] named [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] Meadowcroft. I have such a crush on her name it’s borderline weird. Sounds like it was straight from a fairytale. I think of fairies and meadows and sweet summer breezes.
[name_f]Cora[/name_f]: This name has been on my list for YEARS. I was in J.[name_m]Crew[/name_m] before the holidays and there was a little girl named [name_f]Cora[/name_f]. I think the name-love becomes so much more real when you hear/see it on a person, especially a lil kiddo. I’m also in love with Downton [name_u]Abbey[/name_u], so maybe that’s another reason that I really like this name. But, again, [name_f]Cora[/name_f] is so classic. Something I forgot to mention with [name_f]Louisa[/name_f], but [name_f]Cora[/name_f] can be multi-cultural. [name_f]Cora[/name_f] can be pronounced very easily in other languages. The [name_f]Cora[/name_f] I saw had some Mexican roots (or so I think; her mama was talking to her in Spanish). I think that makes [name_f]Cora[/name_f] and [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] so versatile and even more classic.
I love all three! [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] is my top choice. It’s one of my absolute favorite names but I can’t use it. People may think it’s odd that she’s a “[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f]” because of the literary connection, but if it doesn’t bother you then I’d go for it. People use their middle names so infrequently that I doubt it would cause any kind of teasing problems.
I do like the [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] nicknames better than the possible nicknames for [name_f]Louisa[/name_f], but the full name has never really appealed to me. I just think of the word “cord.”
[name_f]Cora[/name_f] is a beautiful name that does not require a nickname, but I agree that it feels a little trendy.
I also love all three of these names! I think my pick would be [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]. I love the sweet charm it has. My second pick would be the lovely [name_f]Louisa[/name_f]. Such an elegant name.
I’m going with [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]! It’s lovely I do think [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] is great, too, but [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] is a personal favourite of mine.
I’m open to using two middle names but the first one will be “[name_f]Mae[/name_f]”… Not actually [name_f]Mae[/name_f] but something pretty similar that I cannot announce right now.
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] (I don’t care about the literary connection)
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] (nickname would be [name_f]Cora[/name_f])
[name_f]Cora[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f]
I think I would go with [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] as it kills two birds with one stone [[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Cora[/name_f]] [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] sounds predictable to me but if the middle was not a filler-type name then that would change things. It doesn’t matter with [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] because it is already quite fresh regardless of the middle.
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] is my favorite. I love the meaning of [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f], and I also adore [name_f]Cora[/name_f] so you get to use both. [name_f]Cora[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] is a bit plain/short–albeit sweet. [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] sounds good, just isn’t my style… sounds very country/southern to me.
is lovely. [name_f]Mae[/name_f] is OK, but I do prefer [name_f]May[/name_f].
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f] is GORGEOUS.
[name_f]Cora[/name_f], eh, you can get to that through [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] which gives you so many options like [name_f]Delia[/name_f], [name_f]Cora[/name_f], etc.
I would choose [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f], for sure. For how pretty it is, and for the [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m]. [name_f]Cora[/name_f]'s nice, too, but I’m not a fan of [name_f]Louisa[/name_f]. It seems stuffy to me.
