Louisa

I named by 2 month old daughter [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u]. I think it is a cute name, however have some name regret. I am wondering if [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] could be a nick name for [name_f]Louisa[/name_f]? Too much of a stretch?? Thanks!

[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] can definitely pass as a nn for [name_f]Louisa[/name_f]. In regards to alternative names, you could try [name_u]Lou[/name_u]/[name_f]Lu[/name_f], [name_f]Lulu[/name_f], [name_f]Lula[/name_f], [name_u]Luce[/name_u], maybe even [name_f]Lola[/name_f]. Or you could just refer to her as [name_f]Louise[/name_f]? Other than that and if you’re willing to go a little futher out there there is Loui/[name_m]Louie[/name_m], Lua, [name_u]Isa[/name_u] (eeza), [name_u]Issa[/name_u], [name_f]Suzy[/name_f] or [name_f]Lolly[/name_f].

My 2 year old calls her Weeza, which is pretty adorable and I do too half the time. I just don’t know if that is a very long lasting nick name haha. Same with lulu, I love it but only see using it through toddler years.

I don’t think [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] would be a stretch  [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u] is gorgeous, by the way, and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is equally terrific.

ETA: I just saw the Weeza comment. That’s so sweet! It made me smile because my grandma’s sister is named [name_f]Louise[/name_f] and everyone, till this day, calls her Weeza or Weezy. I guess sometimes pet names do have a way of sticking around lol

A relative of mine was [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] called [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]. I think it makes a lovely nn for [name_f]Louisa[/name_f]. And, if it helps, they do grow into their names in time!

[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u] is absolutely gorgeous! Weeza is adorable for now and I’m sure your daughter’s nicknames will adapt as she grows. If she’s meant to be a [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], it will stick.

[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] totally works as a nickname for [name_f]Louisa[/name_f]. Both are darling names!

I actually think [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is a pretty standard nn for [name_f]Louisa[/name_f].

[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] is absolutely stunning! [name_m]Don[/name_m]’t shorten it.

It often feels odd for me to use my newborn’s given names. They don’t always “fit” right away. We mostly call them the baby or other silly playful names. (Its totally legitimate to use Lucy if you think its a better name for her but I just don’t think you need to be worried if you feel like Louisa isn’t quite right yet)

[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] can absolutely be a nickname for [name_f]Louisa[/name_f]. My daughter is [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] and she goes by [name_f]Lulu[/name_f]. She picked the nickname herself when she was a year and a half. Something will come naturally, whether it’s [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], weeza, [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] or something else. She has a gorgeous name and you have gorgeous options to work with!!

You can nn her anything you like!

It absolutely works! Both [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] are beautiful, btw
