[name_f]Louise[/name_f] is a common middle name and as a first name seems dated. [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] is fresher and has a more modern feel.
^^ Exactly this.
I prefer [name_f]Louise[/name_f], though I have both on my list ([name_f]Louisa[/name_f] to honor someone). I think [name_f]Louise[/name_f] seems friendlier and more playful, while [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] seems more serious to me.
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] is one of my favorite names of all time because it has special meaning to me. I do agree it sounds a bit serious and weighty compared to [name_f]Louise[/name_f]. [name_f]Louise[/name_f] is a bit more casual and welcoming in my eyes. Both are great names!
I love the romantic vintage quality of [name_f]Louisa[/name_f].
Depends on the context, I suppose! Traditionally I’ve always preferred [name_f]Louisa[/name_f], but lately I’ve started to appreciate [name_f]Louise[/name_f], and was really considering [name_f]Louise[/name_f] [name_f]Annabella[/name_f] a while back. I love the nn [name_u]Lou[/name_u]/[name_f]Lulu[/name_f] for either one. I like the simplicity of [name_f]Louise[/name_f], but the literary richness of [name_f]Louisa[/name_f]. I think I’d probably do [name_f]Louisa[/name_f], personally, but [name_f]Louise[/name_f] is very sweet, too.
