My cousin is having a baby girl in a few weeks and she still has no idea what she wants to name her. She likes unique names and her top pick at the moment is [name]Louisiana[/name] [name]Hope[/name]. Unfortunately, a lot of my family members aren’t that keen on it. I think it’s cute, but none of the people in my family care what I think so whatever cue eye roll. Possible nicknames she likes are [name]Louie[/name], [name]Louise[/name], and [name]Ana[/name]. Any thoughts on the name, berries? You guys think it’s cool or that it’s too state-ish?
I think it’s too much in an overly elaborate [name]Audrianna[/name]/[name]Ellianna[/name]/[name]Alexandrina[/name] type way, plus all I think of is the state lol. I prefer [name]Louise[/name] or [name]Louisa[/name] a loooot more.

Personally, I wouldn’t go for it, I would pick [name]Louisa[/name] or [name]Louisa[/name]. She could still go by [name]Lou[/name].

For some reason it sounds like a Hurricane [name]Katrina[/name] name. Like the parents survived the storm or met because of the storm
[name]Louisiana[/name] is fine. The state has a rich history and culture, which to me makes it a very interesting name. I never understood what people had against state names. They were quite popular in the 1800s, so it isn’t like they’re one of the deadly modern trends.
I’m sorry but I just can’t take [name]Louisiana[/name] seriously as a name. [name]Louise[/name]/[name]Louisa[/name] or [name]Anna[/name] would much better.

I love it. I’ve considered it on and off as a middle name for a daughter because my husband and I met in college in New Orleans. I know classmates who’ve named their daughters [name]Nola[/name], but I think [name]Louisiana[/name] is cooler. Thumbs up from me!
