Well, my newest crush is Loura (pronunciation is like Luna but with an r). I love how it looks, how uncommon it is and the nn of [name_u]Lou[/name_u]. While I really love it, I don’t want my future child to always correct people that no my name isn’t [name_f]Laura[/name_f].
Wdyt? Should I keep the spelling or just look for a completely different namw?
PS not pregnant or expecting any time soon
Once you said the nn [name_u]Lou[/name_u] I pronounced it correctly but when I read the heading I read it as [name_f]Lo[/name_f]-rah!

Do you like [name_f]Loire[/name_f]? I do.
I think I’d look for a different name.

It’s unique! [name_f]Do[/name_f] you pronounce it like [name_f]Luna[/name_f] with an R instead of N? Maybe you could spell it [name_f]Lura[/name_f] to make the pronunciation clearer. I definitely think it would be confused with/misread as [name_f]Laura[/name_f] with the spelling Loura.

How do you pronounce it? Looks pretty on paper.
That’s what Iam afraid about. The pronunciations isn’t very clear on paper. Maybe [name_f]Lura[/name_f] will be better?
Despite being an [name_f]English[/name_f] teacher, I am terrible at writing out pronunciations.
Luh-WA with the slightest whiff of an r at the end is how I’d put it but others can probably do it properly!

What about [name_f]Alura[/name_f]?

I like the sound, but prefer the spelling of [name_f]Lura[/name_f] or even Lourah as I think they’re more intuitive.
I can’t help but read Loura as LOW-ruh (low as in “loud” or in rhyming with “cow”)

I think Loura would get misread as [name_f]Laura[/name_f] often. I would probably recommend the [name_f]Lura[/name_f] spelling.
If you’re looking for similar names, I would suggest [name_f]Lula[/name_f], [name_f]Louella[/name_f] or [name_f]Luana[/name_f].

I would assume it was said like [name_f]Laura[/name_f] at first. I like the pronunciation it’s supposed to be but I think you’d have a lot of issues.

I think the pronunciation might throw people a bit but it wouldn’t be hard to correct
