hannah: I prefer the classic [name_f]Anna[/name_f] or [name_f]Annie[/name_f]

emma: too popular, a bit boring

Faith - love (warm and sweet) Lucy - love (literary and strong) Lexie- like (pretty cute) Eden - like (fresh and charming) Briar - love (sharp and bright) Mari -like (i like it but it doesn’t quite have enough substance for my personal tastes) Olivia -lose (not bad just not exciting to me) Rue - like (pretty cute) Hope -love (cosy but with strength) Hannah - like (pretty cute and solid) Ruth -lose (i find it harsh) Abigail - lose (not bad, just find it clunky) Eira -love (bright, sharp and lovely and great meaning) Emma -lose (not bad but a bit dull) Amelia - lose (not bad but I’ve known so so many it’s lost its shine) Ava -like (sweet and charming, though popular) Harper -like (literary and cool)
[name_u]Love[/name_u] -
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] - underused virtue name with a pretty and unusual sound, lovely meaning.
[name_f]Hannah[/name_f] - gorgeous biblical classic, lesser used today, palindrome symmetry. I also find it witchy which I like. Suits all ages.
Like -
[name_f]Faith[/name_f] - pleasant sound and meaning. Was my favourite name for years as a kid.
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] - While not particularly excited by the name, I have pleasant associations.
[name_u]Eden[/name_u] - Was also a favourite as a kid, and still have soft spot.
[name_f]Eira[/name_f] - This is very cool and a refreshing take on short vowel names ending in -a trend - it’s distinct from the rest.
Lose -
[name_u]Lexie[/name_u] - footballer’s and z-list celebrity kids name
[name_u]Briar[/name_u] - would be pretty if it didn’t remind me of [name_m]Brian[/name_m].
[name_f]Mari[/name_f] - like as a nn for something longer but not in its own right.
[name_f]Olivia[/name_f] - far, far too common.
[name_u]Rue[/name_u] - doesn’t feel like a name to me.
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] - always found it dowdy
[name_f]Abigail[/name_f] - see above, though [name_u]Abbey[/name_u] is pretty
[name_f]Emma[/name_f] - boring
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] - far, far too common & dull
[name_f]Ava[/name_f] - indistinct in a sea of similar names. [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Ada[/name_f] though for the harder sound.
[name_u]Harper[/name_u] - not my style at all - downmarket which is a shame because [name_u]Harper[/name_u] [name_u]Lee[/name_u].
I’ve answered this as if I were considering using the names myself ~
[name_u]Love[/name_u] - [name_f]Mari[/name_f] (mar- names are my favourite), [name_u]Lexie[/name_u] (good associations with this name through someone I know), [name_f]Faith[/name_f] (classic name, love the unusual ‘th’ ending), [name_u]Eden[/name_u] (long-term favourite for any gender), [name_f]Abigail[/name_f] (a family name), [name_f]Hope[/name_f] and [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] (see reasoning for Faith!), [name_f]Ava[/name_f] (beautiful and elegant)
Like - [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] (sometimes I can’t appreciate it because of its popularity), [name_u]Rue[/name_u] (love how it sounds, prefer the spelling Roux), [name_u]Briar[/name_u] (great imagery), [name_f]Emma[/name_f] (see Olivia!)
Lose - [name_f]Eira[/name_f] (I am used to it being pronounced Ay-ra, so eye-ra throws me off) [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] (sweet but I find it a bit plain, I could be won over with the right combo), [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] (I don’t like how it sounds and have a stronger preference for Amelie), [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] (sometimes she’s a like, it’s an objectively lovely name, it’s just so popular it’s lost a bit of shine for me), [name_u]Harper[/name_u] (I’m having a bit of a ‘no’ phase with [name_u]Harper[/name_u] and I don’t even know why )
[name_m]Can[/name_m] I just ask, is [name_f]Mari[/name_f] pronounced Mah-ry? If so, I like it spelled [name_f]Mairi[/name_f]. If it’s pronounced like [name_f]Mary[/name_f] I prefer the traditional spelling. If it’s marry, I like it short for longer names e.g Mariett(a/e), Mariann(a/e).
love:
[name_u]Rue[/name_u]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_u]Briar[/name_u]
[name_u]Harper[/name_u]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Mari[/name_f] (pronounced like the word ‘are’ or to rhyme with ‘car’, otherwise it’d be in like!)
like:
[name_f]Eira[/name_f] (prn ay-ruh would be in love)
[name_f]Olivia[/name_f]
[name_f]Emma[/name_f]
[name_u]Eden[/name_u] (prefer this on a boy!)
like for others:
[name_f]Abigail[/name_f]
[name_f]Hope[/name_f]
[name_f]Hannah[/name_f]
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f]
lose:
[name_f]Faith[/name_f] (very religious [which could be what you’re looking for, but nms] and seems a bit overused/dated)
[name_u]Lexie[/name_u] (again, too overused and dated to me - can’t even count how many Lexie’s I’ve known! maybe a longer name with nn [name_u]Lexie[/name_u] could work better, as then the name wearer would have more options if they didn’t like [name_u]Lexie[/name_u] as much!)
[name_f]Ava[/name_f] (way too popular for me, just like [name_u]Lexie[/name_u], I can’t count how many I’ve known)
reasons - usually just not my taste, [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] & [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] are too popular imo, [name_f]Hope[/name_f] & [name_f]Faith[/name_f] - I’m not a fan of ‘‘feelings’’ names
