As you all probably know, surnames are becoming very “cool” to use as first names these days. I was wondering if the surname Lovejoy would be cool. I’m not saying it is one of my personal choices, but I am curious what other people think. Personally, I think it sounds appealing, but there is still something slightly off about it. I think it is a great way to use the name [name]Love[/name], but to me it might sound like a double barrel name when you introduce the child to people. Instead of sounding like one unit, it just sounds like [name]Love[/name] [name]Joy[/name] to me. I’m not sure if it will come across as more of a hippy name since it contains two hippy names in one. I like hippy names, but would this sound too kitschy? I just thought about the name yesterday so I am still trying to wrap my head around whether or not it can be used as a first name. What do you berries think?? Would this be a better middle name, or is it ready to become a first name?
I don’t think that this name will catch on maybe [name]Love[/name] and [name]Joy[/name] separate but not together sorry.
Definitely a sweet middle name, but the world is just not ready for this as a first name.
I know a girl who has 3 daughters,
[name]Kailey[/name] [name]Hope[/name]
[name]Kaitlin[/name] [name]Love[/name]
[name]Ava[/name] [name]Joy[/name]
[name]Kate[/name] & [name]Jon[/name] Gosslelin also gave their sextuplet daughters this kind of themed middle names…
[name]Alexis[/name] [name]Faith[/name]
[name]Leah[/name] [name]Hope[/name]
[name]Hannah[/name] [name]Joy[/name]
In these cases, its cute (not my style but cute non the less) but I think Lovejoy as a full first name is too much.
Lovejoy is too much, but I am friends with a family those names include, [name]Love[/name], [name]Joy[/name], [name]Hope[/name], [name]Faith[/name], etc.
I do think it would make an awesome middle name - sweet on its own and meaningful because its a family name!
But I also think it could work as a first name - as long as you don’t mind it being unique. Pair it with a more familiar middle name and if she doesn’t care for it when she’s older, she can go by her middle name!
