I interviewed a woman today who was with her 2 year old son. His name is [name]Radford[/name]. Nn … [name]RAD[/name]! [name]How[/name], ahem, [name]Rad[/name] is that? I asked her about it and she said it’s her maiden name. He is called [name]Rad[/name] or [name]Raddy[/name] for nicknames. I love it and had to share. If I hadn’t juuuust narrowed down my boy’s list it might sway me back into “undecided”
I grew up in [name]Virginia[/name] and one of the “party schools” was [name]Radford[/name] University, so it’s not my favorite.
I’m not a huge fan of Surname-names (unless they’re family names, like in this case, or my inexplicable love of [name]Crosby[/name]) but I [name]LOVE[/name] the nn [name]Rad[/name]! I’m thinking about using it for [name]Conrad[/name]!
The fact that it is her maiden name makes it adorable and perfect for him.
I love that it’s her maiden name. That makes it so special. And [name]Rad[/name] is a great nn.
Ooh, I like it. I like it even more because it’s her maiden name.
I agree. I like it for him but it’d be kind of weird on someone that doesn’t have a familial connection to the name.
