Loving Thomasina...thoughts?

I have a name-crush on [name]Thomasina[/name]!
I adore the potential nn [name]Tommy[/name] and I love how regal and vintage it sounds on its own.

What do you think?

I vaguely prefer [name]Thomasin[/name], but I think [name]Thomasina[/name] is very cute. I am the sort of person that likes [name]Isabel[/name] more than [name]Isabella[/name], that’s all.

I like it, I’m always surprised how rare it is because it seems to have a lot of the appeal of, say, [name]Josephine[/name]. But it’s comparatively totally unused.

I actually just saw [name]Tamsin[/name] on the front page and thought about how much prettier [name]Thomasina[/name] is! XD
[name]Thomasin[/name] is also nice, but I get a little pronunciation confused on that one.
I would probably call her [name]Sina[/name], but [name]Maisie[/name] would also work.

Me too!

I love [name]Thomasina[/name]! My brother is named [name]Thomas[/name] and thought of honouring him with this name. I am not sure yet.
But love the name either way!

Like it! Very unique. I like [name]Tamsin[/name] too.

[name]Love[/name] it! Very pretty. [name]Tommy[/name] is a cute nickname, too.

I’ve always loved [name]Thomasina[/name], but when I put it on our girl list, my husband accused me of making it up! I guess it is rather rare. I’d probably use the nn [name]Tammie[/name] or [name]Tessa[/name].

I love it! I went to school with a girl [name]Tommie[/name] & it was very unique among all of the Britneys & [name]Jens[/name]. She was so cute too & really made the name cute.

Now with [name]Josephine[/name] climbing…I am ready for [name]Thomasina[/name] & [name]Joan[/name].

I gues [name]Henrietta[/name] & [name]Harriet[/name] are probably climbing too.

[name]Geraldine[/name], [name]Regina[/name], [name]Alberta[/name], [name]Roberta[/name], [name]Maxine[/name], [name]Wilhelmina[/name]…all of these longer, feminized names are really strong & have a lot of potential.

I don’t like it, it’s too obvious a femininzation to me that it looks poorly constructed.
And [name]Tommy[/name] is 110% boy to me.

[name]Thomasina[/name] is too clunky for me, but I get the appeal with the -ina ending.

I love [name]Tamsin[/name].

I love it! I prefer the nickname [name]Sina[/name] but [name]Tommi[/name] or [name]Tommie[/name] is good.

[name]Thomasina[/name] was the name of my Portugese born Great-Great-Grandmother, and while I usually like family names, I don’t like this one. [name]Even[/name] she didn’t like it, she chose to go by [name]Theresa[/name] for the majority of her life (I never met her, but it’s on all of the family records).

If you like [name]Tommy[/name], go for [name]Thomas[/name] on a boy. It seems odd on a girl.

  • [name]Athena[/name]

i see the thomas part too clearly for a girl. and i don’t really like boy nicknames for a girl either.

[name]Sina[/name]
[name]Toma[/name]
[name]Tess[/name]
[name]Tina[/name]
Tassie
[name]Taffy[/name]

All of these seem like possible nicknames too.

I like [name]Thomasina[/name] and [name]Benjamina[/name] too! Unless you want the nickname [name]Tommy[/name] I would put it in the middle name spot though.

I love it. But I am a sucker for rarely heard feminasations. Could make an awesome middle if you were worried it was too out there for a first.

I don’t really like feminizations in general. [name]Tamsin[/name] is much better.

I love feminizations, and [name]Thomasina[/name] is one of my favorites! I feel like it’s one of those names that non-nameberry folks aren’t going to ‘get’, but I definitely think it is fabulous. I like the nn [name]Mina[/name] the best, but really prefer [name]Thomasina[/name] in it’s entirety. [name]Thomasina[/name], [name]Henrietta[/name], [name]Theodora[/name], and [name]Josephine[/name] are all wonderful names!

I love it! It is a bit long and perhaps a little clunky, but there are SO many nicknames she’s bound to find one she likes.

I love this and my heart did a tumble just seeing it. I went to University with a [name]Thomasina[/name], she was incredibly bright.
