Would these initials be horrible to have? There is a combo I like but I’m wondering if I should give up on it because of this. Any thoughts?
I personally would not be bothered. It is not often that initials are used.

I think you’re overthinking things. Initials are rarely used anymore like that and really, it’s not something I think I would pay much attention to. I would worry more whether you truly love your kid’s name or not.
I agree with the previous posters. If you’re worried about them wanting monogrammed items, then they usually use the last initial as the focal point in the middle, so it would be LDS in that format.
I think it’s fine. Unless you’re worried about peer pressure, as in, “you can’t have the initials LSD and never try it.” but I don’t truly imagine that would be a big factor.
Personally, it would bother me so I probably wouldn’t use it, but I doubt many other people would even notice or be aware of it.
Actually, the comment about a monogram being “LDS” as opposed to “LSD” actually would make me even less likely to use it as both are fairly well recognized acronyms.

. It’s true that initials aren’t used much unless you’re into monogram stuff, which I’m not. I remember reading another thread on here recently about the initials BS and it seemed to come to the same consensus that it wasn’t a big deal. I just wanted to make sure that was the case with these initials as well!
As a current high schooler, I feel like it would be something kids would notice. It’s honestly probably more like something kids would joke about with their friends. It wouldn’t cause trouble, in my opinion, but I do think people would notice the connection if the initials were made public.
[name_f]Do[/name_f] kids these days know each other’s middle names? When I was in school no one knew my middle name. Most of the kids did not know each other’s middle names…even best friends. To this day only a hand full of people know my middle name. My son is homeschooled, so I do not know how things are now, except what his friends have talked about.
I was homeschooled and plan to homeschool my kids in the future! Among my circle of homeschool friends, I did know some of the girls’ middle names (I’m only 24 so it wasn’t that long ago). I remember we would practice different ways of writing our full names or initials, but it was really more of a girl thing, and the combo I have in mind is for a boy.
Haha. This reminds me of what my best friend’s and I would do. We would practice our future signatures with our first name and our celebrity crush’s surnames.

Speaking on behalf of 99% of the boys in my high school, they would simply brag about their initials being LSD. And they’d find it pretty entertaining, not something to tease about. I would expect that most people wouldn’t know the middle name, just the initials.
