I think that they are definitely too close since they are only one letter apart.
Too close for me
[name_f]My[/name_f] mom and her brother are [name_f]Barb[/name_f] and Bob… and in some cases, [name_f]Barb[/name_f] sounds a lot like [name_m]Bob[/name_m]. Never had an issue with it.
I just read a story and two of the four siblings were [name_u]Luca[/name_u] and [name_f]Luciana[/name_f] “Lucy”. I thought it was charming.
Also, there is a family I follow on Instagram whose youngest two (of four) are [name_m]Emilio[/name_m] and [name_f]Emily[/name_f]. I love it.
In both these examples, they are easily recognizable as their own people. They are quite charming pairings. If you love the names together, go for it!
I wouldn’t do it for twins but if they will be in different classes at school etc then its no big deal.
They are quite verbally similar sounding, but in my opinion, very different styles, which makes them seem less alike. I think they could be useable, but they do certainly have a similar sound.
i knew siblings luke & lucy so i don’t think they’re too similar!
Sound-wise I’d say they’re fine as the C’s are pronounced differently, but visually they’re very close
