"Luca" for a non-Italian American?

I absolutely love the name [name_u]Luca[/name_u], but my husband and I are certainly not Italian, or even European for that matter. Is that a problem? Anyone know any non-Italian boys named [name_u]Luca[/name_u]? Thanks!

Of course you can use [name_u]Luca[/name_u]. You will not summon any vengeful Italian spirits by using [name_u]Luca[/name_u] for a non-Italian baby.

I’d say go for [name_u]Luca[/name_u]! It’s an absolutely fantastic name no matter what your family heritage is.

Yes, absolutely fine. I love [name_u]Luca[/name_u].

I do know one little boy named [name_u]Luca[/name_u] and they do not have any Italian heritage. It works fine and I haven’t heard of any negative comments. Go for it!

I also know a non-Italian [name_u]Luca[/name_u].

No problem with that.

Sure. I love [name_u]Luca[/name_u]!

Definitely! It’s really common to source names from various cultures, and names like [name_u]Luca[/name_u] have a pretty diverse heritage.
I know a Japanese-Canadian [name_u]Luca[/name_u], if it helps.

I adore [name_u]Luca[/name_u]! It’s one of my go-to middles - and while it is an Italian name, I don’t think you need to have any Italian heritage to use it  Go for it!

I really like [name_u]Luca[/name_u] and I don’t see a problem on non-Italian heritage people to use it. People use [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] all the time and most of them don’t have Italian heritage. I think is the same case with [name_u]Luca[/name_u], if you love it, go for it!
