Luca/Luka

What spelling do you prefer - [name]Luka[/name] or [name]Luca[/name]? What do you picture when thinking of a little [name]Luka[/name]/[name]Luca[/name]?

I like [name]Luca[/name] the best

I like both…K names seem to be pretty hot right now. However, most name experts advise to stick with traditional spelling…I was looking into the same name and I believe [name]Luca[/name] is the common spelling.

I prefer Luca over Luka. I’m half Italian, so Luca makes me picture a cute little dark-haired Italian kid!

[name]Luca[/name] - I almost always prefer traditional spellings.

I prefer [name]Luka[/name] because it looks more masculine. I would picture a little [name]Luka[/name] with blonde hair and green eyes, he would be cute and polite.

[name]Luca[/name]. I love this name! I see an adorable, intelligent boy with a gleam of mischief in his eyes. It is a masculine, strong, handsome name. [name]Love[/name] it!

I prefer [name]Luca[/name], but am considering [name]Luka[/name] as where I live they don’t have a C in their alphabet, so it would make spelling easier here. It makes me think of a cheeky Italian boy with curls and a big smile.

Without hesitation [name]Luca[/name]. 100%.

Honestly, I still picture Dr. Kovac from TV series ER (who had the [name]Luka[/name] spelling actually…) So I guess I picture a handsome man with dark hair and such.

[name]Luka[/name] looks more male to me. When I see [name]Luca[/name] i think [name]Lucia[/name].

Thanks everybody. From what I’ve read, [name]Luca[/name] is Italian, whereas [name]Luka[/name] is Russian - therefore, I don’t know if the name has a traditional spelling. I’m leaning towards [name]Luka[/name] with a ‘k’ because we have a very Italian last name (and we aren’t super Italian).

Usually I love the letter k, but with this name I like it more with the c. Honestly, it depends on what you want. [name]Luka[/name] looks and feels stronger while [name]Luca[/name] is still strong, but with a softer undertone. I picture a ruddy, little boy running around playing.

Since c is not used where you live, go with k…as long as you like it. [name]Both[/name] versions are being used, and I agree the k makes it look more masculine.

It’s funny bc I love the name [name]Luca[/name]/luka and have a very Italian last name but we are not very Italian! That’s why I have trouble with other names I love like [name]Lorenzo[/name].

I prefer the [name]Luca[/name] spelling.

I prefer [name]Luca[/name] over [name]Luka[/name], but [name]Lukas[/name] over [name]Lucas[/name] and slightly prefer [name]Luc[/name] over [name]Luke[/name]. Strange I know. [name]Luca[/name] is my best friend’s favourite name, I like it but more so as a pontential nickname for [name]Lukas[/name] / [name]Lucas[/name]. I picture a little darling [name]Luca[/name] of international - maybe Spanish decent? - that is always tanned and always has a smile on his face. From a young age he attracts the girls but he’s brought up to treat them with respect.
