I’m loving [name_u]Luca[/name_u] for a girl but I need a feminine yet spunky, unexpected middle.
At the moment we like [name_u]Luca[/name_u] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u], [name_u]Luca[/name_u] [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] and [name_u]Luca[/name_u] [name_u]Grey[/name_u].
I think [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] works, if unisex with [name_u]Luca[/name_u]. [name_u]Grey[/name_u] and [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] make [name_u]Luca[/name_u] just too cutesy for my taste. So I would definitely choose [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] or ones suggested by @dechen, or else maybe: [name_u]Luca[/name_u] [name_f]Celeste[/name_f], [name_u]Luca[/name_u] [name_f]Francine[/name_f], [name_u]Luca[/name_u] [name_f]Seraphine[/name_f], [name_u]Luca[/name_u] [name_f]Cosette[/name_f], [name_u]Luca[/name_u] [name_f]Cressida[/name_f], [name_u]Luca[/name_u] [name_f]Verity[/name_f].
(If you love it you should of course go for it, and apologies if unwelcome, but my sense is that [name_u]Luca[/name_u] will date quickly with [name_f]Luna[/name_f], [name_f]Lulu[/name_f] etc. I think the girls’ names in your signature or others have more staying power and would be better matched to the suaveness of [name_m]Otis[/name_m]).
Thanks so much for your feedback. I was thinking that [name_u]Luca[/name_u] might get lost with all the popular ‘L’ names at the moment. It’s a very valid point and as a teacher I certainly see my fair share! I guess I’ll keep it on the list and just see how I feel. I do worry about dated names! 8 weeks to go.
