My instinct is definitely Loo-see-a, as one of my friends from early childhood had this name and pronounced it like that.
It can be said as Loo-sha, loo-SEE-a, or loo-CHEE-a. I say Loo-SEE-a personally
loo-CHEE-a is the most distinctive imo, but of the two options I picked loo-see-a
I’d pronounce it Loo-see-ah
I pronounce it as loo-sha.
Definitely loo-see-uh! It’s one of my favorite names. That pronunciation is my first instinct for sure.
I’ve only ever met one, and she pronounces it Loo-sha, so that is my first instinct.
My grandmother was Loo-sha so thats my go-to pronunciation
I would have said [name_u]Lou[/name_u] Chee ah!
I prefer the [name_u]Lou[/name_u]-sha pronunciation, but the only person I’ve ever known with this name pronounced it “[name_u]Lou[/name_u]-chee-a”.
I prefer the Loo-see-ah pronunciation out of the three. However I grew up with someone who pronounced their name Loo-sha so that’s my natural go to
I’ve always heard it Loo-CHEE-uh
I automatically go to loo-CHEE-a as an Italian speaker.
I think if you’re Spanish, it’s loo-SEE-a; if you’re Italian it’s loo-CHEE-a. I never heard it pronounced loo-sha.
I say loo-sha as that’s how the place (St [name_f]Lucia[/name_f], a Caribbean island) is pronounced which is the context in which I was introduced to the word
My first instinct is Loo-CHEE-ah.
