[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone
[name_m]Just[/name_m] a quick question which name do you prefer and why? [name_f]Lucia[/name_f], [name_f]Lucie[/name_f] or [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]?
Thanks in advance.
[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone
[name_m]Just[/name_m] a quick question which name do you prefer and why? [name_f]Lucia[/name_f], [name_f]Lucie[/name_f] or [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]?
Thanks in advance.
I like [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] best, but I couldn’t really give any particular reason for it other than it feels a little more unusual than [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], which is used a lot where I live.
I prefer [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], it just seems the most complete to me. Sweet and simple.
[name_f]Lucie[/name_f] feels like it’s a nickname and I’m never sure how to say [name_f]Lucia[/name_f].
My favorite is [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], though I love [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] as well. I have a hard time picturing an adult [name_f]Lucie[/name_f], it seems very childish and nicknamey.
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]! It’s classic, sweet and strong.
I also like [name_f]Lucie[/name_f], which seems more chic to me. [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] is lovely too, pronounced every way. I knew a loo-chee-a once and always thought it was fun to say.
[name_f]Lucia[/name_f] or [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], not [name_f]Lucie[/name_f]
I prefer [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]. It’s short, sweet and classic. Spelling confusion is never fun, and neither is the pronunciation confusion that could happen with [name_f]Lucia[/name_f], though I do like the name.
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] - classic without looking childish like [name_f]Lucie[/name_f] or with the ambiguous pronunciation of [name_f]Lucia[/name_f].
I would have to pick [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], it looks more balanced than [name_f]Lucie[/name_f] for some reason. I adore [name_f]Lucia[/name_f], but I dislike the pronunciation confusion.
My favorite is [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] among the three but I like [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] too
My stepdaughter is [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]. She’s grumbled that [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is used inordinately for small dogs.
I like [name_f]Lucie[/name_f]…it’s the [name_m]French[/name_m] spelling…but it appears I’m in the minority. I like [name_f]Lucia[/name_f], but there are definitely pronunciation difficulties. My favorite of the [name_m]Luc[/name_m]- names is actually [name_f]Lucinda[/name_f].
I like [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] or [name_f]Lucie[/name_f]. [name_f]Lucie[/name_f] is simply just the [name_m]French[/name_m] spelling of [name_f]Lucy[/name_f].
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f], [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]!!!
I think I prefer [name_f]Lucia[/name_f], but I only like the Spanish way (loo-see-a) and around here plenty of people say it the equally valid but not-my-thing Italian way (loo-chee-ah).
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is fine but not my thing.
[name_f]Lucie[/name_f] feels complicated and too-cute to no particular purpose. Maybe if it was short for [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f]? But… why.
[name_f]Lucinda[/name_f] or [name_f]Lucilla[/name_f] would suit me for melodious like [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] but fewer pronunciation issues.
[name_f]Lucia[/name_f], by far!
Lots of Lucys around here- even lots of dog lucys!! [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Lucia[/name_f]!
Thank you all for posting. I am still not sure which to go for though so any more input will be greatly appreciated.
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is currently my favorite name for a little girl. I would name a baby girl of mine [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Adia[/name_f] [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] in a heartbeat! To me, it’s just a perfect name. There are so many strong women named [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], particularly in art and literature, like with [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Maud[/name_f] [name_m]Montgomery[/name_m]. Or even [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] in [name_f]Narnia[/name_f]! There’s the Beatles song, too. And of course, I love the meaning of light, and how it’s derived from the Latin “lux.” I can imagine a [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] of my own just as clearly as I can imagine it on someone else’s child, which is wonderfully diverse. [name_f]Lucie[/name_f] spelled with the -ie seems a bit infantile and cutesy. [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] is also gorgeous and very versatile, but just doesn’t hold a candle to the international [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], in my mind.
I like all 3, but prefer [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]. I like how simple and sweet it is.
