Lucien?

Mentioned this name to my husband in passing- thinking he’d never go for it- and he really likes it. Now I can’t decide how I feel about it. I like the potential nn of [name]Luc[/name]. However, I feel like I’m about to say “Lucifer” when I say [name]Lucien[/name] out loud. That just me being crazy, though.

What first or middle name would you pair with it? What type of boy/man do you picture? Is it too much for a wee boy?

Thanks for your thoughts.

[name]Lucien[/name] is adorable. I like it a lot. My first idea was [name]Lucien[/name] [name]Silas[/name] or [name]Lucien[/name] [name]Seth[/name]. I picture a strong, smart, kind man, with blond hair and a heart of gold. Full of integrity, wisdom, and laughter. Attractive. I’m not sure why I get such a positive image, but I do. I think of an adorable, little, blond-haired sweetie, smart, precocious, charming. I definitely don’t think it’s too much name for a cute little boy!

I slightly prefer the sound of [name]Lucian[/name] (LOO-shuhn), and I think that helps get rid of the Lucifer associations. I think you could still use the nn [name]Luc[/name] for it (or even [name]Ian[/name]).

Good luck!

I too prefer the spelling of [name]Lucian[/name]-- I think it helps it to seem a little more masculine and gets more into the feel of the [name]Roman[/name] names ([name]Adrian[/name], [name]Cassian[/name], [name]Fabian[/name], [name]Julian[/name], etc.). What about [name]Lucian[/name] [name]August[/name], [name]Lucian[/name] [name]Paul[/name], or [name]Lucian[/name] [name]Fredrick[/name]? I think there are tons of mns that work with it.

I love the name Lucien/Lucian. It reminds me of the movie Underworld. My favorite character in that movie is named Lucian & he’s a lycan(werewolf).

The name makes me think of a smart, strong, loving man. For middle names I like Lucian Alexander, Lucian Bennett, Lucian Brandt, Lucian Grey. I think of all those Brandt is my favorite.

I also prefer the spelling [name]Lucian[/name] and really love the name. [name]Lucian[/name] [name]James[/name] is the first name to come to mind, but lots of names work in the middle…

[name]Lucian[/name] [name]Patrick[/name]
[name]Lucian[/name] [name]Robert[/name]
[name]Lucian[/name] [name]David[/name]
[name]Lucian[/name] [name]Edward[/name]
[name]Lucian[/name] [name]Phillip[/name]
[name]Lucian[/name] [name]George[/name]
[name]Lucian[/name] [name]Charles[/name]
[name]Lucian[/name] [name]Markus[/name]
[name]Lucian[/name] [name]Oliver[/name]

[name]Lucien[/name] was on our short list for both of our boys. My mother in law is named [name]Lucie[/name] though, and we didn’t want endless confusion at family gatherings. So we reluctantly crossed it off our list. I think it’s a great name, but I think that [name]Lucian[/name] does look a little more masculine.

Okay, so the [name]Lucian[/name] spelling.
[name]How[/name] do you think it fits with [name]Juliette[/name], [name]Bella[/name], [name]Mia[/name], [name]Leo[/name] and [name]Ronan[/name]? I kind of didn’t want to repeat first letters but could maybe be convinced…

Thanks-
[name]Tara[/name]

I actually love it with [name]Juliette[/name], [name]Bella[/name], [name]Mia[/name], [name]Leo[/name], and [name]Ronan[/name]! It fits so well, imo. It does have the repeating letter (which I’m not too fond of, either, actually), but [name]Leo[/name] and [name]Lucian[/name] are very distinct to me, anyway. I think it’s fabulous!

Hmmmm. Well, then I’ll definitely give it more thought. [name]Do[/name] you think [name]Luc[/name] is an acceptable nickname?
