Lucienne

[name]How[/name] do you pronounce this? I’ve been thinking it’s lou-shen.

I have been looking for this name everywhere! For a girl, right? I have always envisioned it as “[name]LUCY[/name]-N”…

I went to high school with a [name]Lucienne[/name], and she pronounced it [name]Lucy[/name] En. It’s French, and I’m pretty sure they don’t have a sh sound with this combination of letters, Loo-shen would be with a ch, like chapeau or chez, not a ci. Can’t think of examples with ci in French that everyone would recognize how to pronounce from hearing it in English.

I agree it would be [name]Lucy[/name] En with that spelling. The only French word I can think of is [name]Ciel[/name] (sky) that is pronounced like see-el, which would correspond to the cy-en part of lucy-en.

[name]Lucian[/name] is a boys’ name that is pronounced lou-shin

I guess that’s why I thought it would be pronounced that way; it said on the nameberry description that they were related. I think [name]Lucian[/name] would be really pretty on a girl.
