Lucille nn Lucy or just Lucy?!?

[name]Hi[/name] berries!

I have recently fallen in love with the name [name]Lucy[/name] for a little girl. I love how sweet and innocent, yet grown-up ([name]IMO[/name]) the name feels. My question today is would you name her [name]Lucille[/name] and call her [name]Lucy[/name] or just name her [name]Lucy[/name]? I think I am leaning towards just [name]Lucy[/name], but I just wanted some other opinions!

Also, what do you think of [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Clementine[/name]? I am trying to find a middle name that isn’t as common as [name]Lucy[/name] is … any suggestions?

Thanks!
[name]Megan[/name]

[name]Love[/name] it! [name]Lucy[/name] is one of my favorite girl names and [name]Clementine[/name] pairs with it so well. It sounds fresh and sweet! I personally prefer [name]Lucy[/name] to [name]Lucille[/name], especially with your choice of middle name.

I think [name]Lucy[/name] works just fine on its own… but then again, I don’t like [name]Lucille[/name].
I’m a [name]Lucia[/name] who goes mostly by [name]Lucy[/name] and I love having the option of both (especially when it comes to travelling), but I think [name]Lucy[/name] is just fine as a stand-alone name and I love it.
I don’t care for [name]Clementine[/name] either, sorry. My mn is [name]Vivian[/name], which I love.

[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Aurelia[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Tamsin[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Odette[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Fiona[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Dalila[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Evgenia[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Virginia[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Frances[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Celeste[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Blythe[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Leonor[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Mathilde[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Sabina[/name]

I think [name]Lucy[/name] is a beautiful, sweet name. It doesn’t need to be elongated- it’s lovely just as it is. Besides, I find [name]Lucille[/name] pretty dated. And I like [name]Lucy[/name] with [name]Clementine[/name]- I think it’s kind of like a hidden gem. Here are some other MNs that I think fit you’re criteria, although they’re a little bit all over the place as far as style goes:

[name]Fleur[/name]
[name]Paloma[/name]
[name]Evangeline[/name]
[name]Blythe[/name]
[name]Arden[/name]
[name]Elsbeth[/name]
Wilhemina

I would go just [name]Lucy[/name], I agree if feels fresh and fun but also transitions well to the grown up world. I do like the originality of [name]Clementine[/name] and how it flows with [name]Lucy[/name], so all in all I think [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Clementine[/name] in a great name!

I like [name]Lucy[/name] and [name]Lucille[/name]. It works fine either way! [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Clementine[/name] is ADORABLE!

I like [name]Lucy[/name] as the formal name. We never see [name]Lucille[/name] anymore and I like [name]Lucy[/name] way better.

I much prefer [name]Lucy[/name] on it’s own over [name]Lucille[/name]. [name]Lucille[/name] is just so old fashioned. Also if you plan on calling her [name]Lucy[/name], what’s the point in [name]Lucille[/name]?

I don’t like [name]Lucy[/name] at all. I think of Loosey-Goosey, which is sometimes used to refer to girls who are very “friendly”. I wouldn’t want to think of “loose” when I think of a little girl. I like [name]Lucille[/name], but I’d never call her [name]Lucy[/name].

If you want [name]Lucy[/name] then just use it. If you want a longer name, then [name]Lucille[/name] or [name]Lucinda[/name]

I think [name]Lucy[/name] works fine on it’s own and [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Clementine[/name] is perfect - I do prefer it as a nickname if I were to use ti for myself, my favorite form being Lucelia.

I’m [name]Lucinda[/name] nn [name]Luci[/name], but I love [name]Lucy[/name] too. I prefer having a longer name for more formal occasions, but maybe that’s just because I have one! I like [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Clementine[/name] a lot-- I also think [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Caroline[/name] is nice too.

I think [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Clementine[/name] is delightfully vintage :).

[name]Lucy[/name] can definitely stand on its own, but I like the idea of using [name]Lucille[/name] with the nn [name]Lucy[/name]. If popularity is a concern, [name]Lucille[/name] is a nice way to get [name]Lucy[/name] (a more popular name) through a less common formal name. Though, I would change the mn if you use [name]Lucille[/name]. [name]Lucille[/name] [name]Clementine[/name] doesn’t sound as nice as just [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Clementine[/name].

[name]Lucille[/name] is sort of dated to me, I would go with [name]Lucy[/name] or [name]Lucine[/name] nn [name]Lucy[/name]. [name]Clementine[/name] [name]Lucine[/name] is actually the name of a famous French water skier so I think the two work well together in whatever order you like.

I’m a [name]Lucy[/name] [name]May[/name] and I love my name, but I think [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Clementine[/name] is just perfect. Perhaps I should have been a [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Clementine[/name] instead!
[name]Lucille[/name] nn [name]Lucy[/name] would be great too, but [name]Lucille[/name] [name]Clementine[/name] doesn’t sound quite as good to me. I don’t think being “just [name]Lucy[/name]” would be an issue.

[name]Lucy[/name] no formal name…I hate [name]Clementine[/name] though…it bugs me soo much…blech

I think [name]Lucy[/name] on its own is lovely!

[name]Lucille[/name] reminds me of [name]Lucille[/name] Bluth (Arrested Development), so I think old and drunk, haha.
[name]Lucy[/name] is fine on its own.
