I adore the name [name]Lux[/name]. I’ll be honest, I never thought about using it until [name]Lou[/name] Teasdale (the stylist for [name]One[/name] Direction) used it for her daughter. But [name]Lux[/name] is slowly growing on me.
I understand why people dislike [name]Lux[/name]-it’s the name of brand of soap, and most people just think of luxury. In that respect, I can see why people would think that [name]Lux[/name] is tacky.
While I probably won’t use it as a first name, I like the idea of [name]Lux[/name] as a nickname. Could I get away with [name]Lucy[/name] nn [name]Lux[/name], since both names mean light? Or would I need to have a middle name with x in it-something like [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name]?
I love it! Absolutely love it! It’s a brilliant idea really, [name]Lucy[/name] nn [name]Lux[/name]. I think you don’t need an x middle, but if you did it’s be even more perfect.
Haha! Me, myself, thought about using [name]Lucy[/name] nn [name]Luz[/name] because [name]Luz[/name] is too spanish. Now you come up with [name]Lucy[/name] nn [name]Lux[/name]. I love it.
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name] is nice too.
I really love [name]Lux[/name] (probably because I’m hands down obsessed with The Virgin Suicides). I don’t normally like overly-stretched nicknames, but [name]Lucy[/name] nn [name]Lux[/name] just about works for me, and I don’t necessarily think you need [name]Beatrix[/name] in the middle, although [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name] is absolutely lovely anyway.
(also, I googled [name]Lou[/name] Teasdale’s daughter and she’s so cute it’s actually unreal).
I love [name]Lux[/name]! And I think [name]Lucy[/name] with the nn [name]Lux[/name] is adorable. [name]Non[/name] name nerds (who don’t know that both names mean light) may have a hard time seeing the connection without an x middle name but I still don’t think you have to use it. Still, on that note, I think [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name] is absolutely lovely.
Thank you, everyone!
I was worried that [name]Lucy[/name] nn [name]Lux[/name] would be too much of a stretch since it’s not an obvious nickname, but I guess not, which is a wonderful thing. :]
