Lucy or Sarah

Siblings are P@ul, Cl@re, M@rk, K@th@rine, J@mes, @ndrew, G@briel and [name_m]Thom[/name_m]@s.

Both of these names have been on our short list of years. Finally adding another girl and it’s so hard to pick. We’ve been mulling around other short names like [name_f]Eve[/name_f], [name_f]Nell[/name_f] and [name_u]Joan[/name_u] but [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] probably feel the most like our daughter.

Both of these are so beautiful, but I voted for [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]. How about [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]? Or [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]?

I personally much prefer [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], but I think [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] goes better with her siblings (although both names work perfectly fine).

I like the little black dress theme going on here. I can see why they’ve stayed on your list for years. I’m not surprised that [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is preferred amongst this crowd but I prefer [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] for your set. It feels far more cohesive in style and gravity. I especially enjoy how the letter ‘a’ features across all your children’s names. [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] seems somewhat lightweight. It’s not a diminutive yet it’s sweet and feels like one.

Sarah is timeless, versatile and international. I think [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]’s feature in the bible sets her apart from other classic names in a good way. [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] is nowhere near as popular as she was at her peak, but I get the sense that a lot of parents naming children now would feel that way because it was more common amongst their peers. Now would be the perfect time to name a baby girl [name_f]Sarah[/name_f].

If you feel [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] needs a little more spark, it could be helped by pairing up with the middle name socially or when you feel like it. I don’t know if you have anything lined up but I enjoy [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] [name_f]Ann[/name_f], [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f], [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] [name_u]Marie[/name_u], [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f], [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] [name_u]Louise[/name_u], [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] and [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f].

Lucy is brilliant

I prefer [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] with the sibling set .

I knew a [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] growing up and kids always said “ [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] Goosey “ which is terrible , So as a result I prefer [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] or [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] or other longer variations

It was so hard to choose, but I think [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] fits just that little bit better with your other children’s names  [name_u]Love[/name_u] the idea of [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]/Sarah [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] though!!

I think I agree completely with your assessment. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband has loved [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] for years and I see a lot of the appeal but it hasn’t quite sealed the deal because I sometimes find it too sweet and lightweight. But it is classic and saintly with a great meaning and great namesakes (fictional and real) so I can’t quite decide. It also brings some new sounds to the sibling group and I particularly enjoy saying it with G@briel’s name. It’s also easy to pair with middle names. Right now leading contenders are [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Gianna[/name_f], [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Veronica[/name_f], [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f]. But really so many names sound nice.

I know [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] isn’t popular now. It hasn’t made my states top 100 since 2013. I just worry that everyone’s a bit bored by it. I’ve also not quite found a middle name that I love with it. [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] was almost my daughter’s K@tharine’s name but I know now that many [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]’s share that middle name. I love saying [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] and [name_m]Thom[/name_m]@s together. It feels very much like one of my kids. Simple and straightforward and beautiful without obvious nicknames. I do wonder if it’s too close to my name L@ura.

There feels like a lot of pressure on this name. [name_f]My[/name_f] youngest girl is 12 and we’ve had 4 boys in a row. Many great names are eliminated now because they’re too close to our other kids names. [name_f]Grace[/name_f] and [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] are both loved by my husband and me. But I really jumble up the similar sounds in G@briel and Gr@ce. I’ve tried many times this pregnancy saying that [name_f]Grace[/name_f] was the one because I love it so but it just doesn’t work.

We almost picked [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] but my dh started calling the baby Care-bear and I know my daughters friends call her Cl@re-bear so that just felt odd.

Lucy!!! I also love all of your children’s names!

I vote for [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] but then realized that she would be the only sibling without an A in her name. So now I might want to change to [name_f]Sarah[/name_f].

Both fit perfectly in the sibset, but I prefer [name_f]Lucy[/name_f].

[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] sounds nice to me.
