Which image do you get? What would a [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] be like?
Which one out of these do you prefer? [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], [name_f]Chloe[/name_f], [name_f]Poppy[/name_f], [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] or [name_f]Ruby[/name_f]?
Out of [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_f]Ruby[/name_f], which one do you prefer and why? Which image do you get for each name?
I really like lucy, its not used by anyone in my area i dont think. I love [name_f]Ruby[/name_f] but its hugely popular.
I think the beauty of [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is she could be anyone. She cant boxed into a generation, or culture or any other category people associate some names into.
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is actually in my top five favorites right now! Sheās so charming and spunky, but also literary and simple ā a super versatile name that I can picture on absolutely anyone!
Out of your list, I think [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] or [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] would be my preference, but [name_f]Ruby[/name_f] is also sweet. Only considering [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] & [name_f]Ruby[/name_f] (which is such a hard choice), I still think Iād pick [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]! The overall imagery is sweet and spunky, with a friendly girl-next-door feel.
I like her, [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] would 100% be on my list if she wasnāt so popular!
To me, the name [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] feels like a silky blue, and [name_f]Lucie[/name_f] feels like a very light pink or cream, sheās very kind and sweet, ribbons, and twirly dresses, very feminine, but still strong and adventurous.
I donāt associate [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] with any generation or age group.
I like [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] out of your list, theyād make for sweet sisters!
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]:
[name_f]Ruby[/name_f]:
Iād have to choose [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]!
Of your list, I love both [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]!
Only considering [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_f]Ruby[/name_f], Iād pick [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]. I have a very bad association with [name_f]Ruby[/name_f], so that probably influences my judgement. [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], however, is timeless and beautiful.
[name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Strong[/name_f] but sweet, reserved but assured, literary, bright and versatile. I imagine snow, pale pink and grey, delicate pressed flowers, books, and rolling waves.
Thatās a hard set to choose between, but [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is probably my favourite, followed by [name_f]Poppy[/name_f], [name_f]Chloe[/name_f], [name_f]Ruby[/name_f] then [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f].
Again, I prefer [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], but [name_f]Ruby[/name_f] is lovely. [name_f]Ruby[/name_f] feels more red, gold and glittery, lively, a little summery, connected to nature.
I do find it hard to pick between those two as theyāre my cousinsā names, so it feels like āLucy and Rubyā come as one
I love Lucyās meaning, also how sweet and easy to say, she sort of just slides off your tongue. I think of I [name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], and also a brownish golden like fields after corn stalks etc. turn brown in the fall. Iām not sure why lol. Most L names are yellow to me, and I think the āUā next to it turns it a little brown for me.
Of the names you listed, [name_f]Poppy[/name_f], [name_f]Chloe[/name_f], and [name_f]Ruby[/name_f] are my favorites! I love [name_f]Lucia[/name_f], but Iām not as fond of [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] personally, although I wish I was! I like [name_f]Ruby[/name_f] more than [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]. Sheās a rich burgundy color for me, and reminds me of some really special kiddos to me - I always tell them theyāre more precious than rubies and so thatās a really sentimental association for me. [name_f]Love[/name_f] that [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] means ālightā though!
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is such a great name! Itās short and sweet but has such a classic charm. I think of I [name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and the character from Chronicles of [name_f]Narnia[/name_f]. [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is hands down my favorite out of your options.
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is a Nameberry darling but she isnāt my favourite choice. For me I just hear the word loose which Iām not keen on. However I do see the appeal sheās sweet, timeless, has fun literacy connotations and a lovely meaning. I can imagine a quiet, introverted girl named [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] with blonde plaits in her hair.
[name_f]My[/name_f] favourite is [name_f]Ruby[/name_f]! Such a lovely summery gemstone name that shines brightly
[name_f]Ruby[/name_f] is my favourite I can envision a fun, bubbly person with dark features who loves to dance whereas [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] feels more introverted and quiet.
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is classic and timeless. Popular, without being overused. It is a lovely name, with a lovely meaning. Take no notice if anyone who hears ālooseā in the name. There are literally thousands of names that could be thought of in that way! [name_m]Just[/name_m] look at [name_f]Louise[/name_f]! But it isnāt the same because most of us get completely different imagery when we use the name.
Phoebe, Chloe & Ruby are my faves (in that order).
I donāt like Lucy but can see how others do
(itās the āseeā part that I donāt warm to for some odd reason). I see her as sweet, responsible, quietly confident, curious & bookish, and cheeky/ witty around her friends but generally introverted.
Ruby to me is dark haired, outgoing, fun, a little brash & sarcastic - and obviously associated with red & maroon tones (while Lucy is sky and navy blues).
Poppy is nice but it doesnāt age well imo (from my experience of knowing two now in their mid teens). I prefer it as a nickname to Penelope or Josephine etc.
Ellie is one of my least fave names (within the regular name category). I think itās the smelly/jelly/belly sounds and I see it as babyish. I donāt like it as a nn even!
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] / feels so trendy to me Iāve never enjoyed saying this name, but I can see that it appears fashionable.
[name_f]Poppy[/name_f] / very cute and spunky, but prefer as a nickname for [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] or [name_f]Penelope[/name_f].
[name_f]Ellie[/name_f] / we know about 10 Ellieās so this name feels a bit redundant to me at this point. I do like some of the fuller options with this as a nickname though.
[name_f]Ruby[/name_f] / I think sheās sparkly and spunky!
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] / timeless classic with a sweet appeal.
I also love the sound and meaning of her name. [name_f]My[/name_f] first association is chronicles of narnia and then I love [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] but theyāre not strong associations to me and I donāt think theyāre a bad thing. [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] feels pretty timeless but still wish she wasnāt so popular rn.
[name_f]Ruby[/name_f] is also cute but it never got into my top names because I tend to have an aversion to b sounds (similar issue with Phoebe) but would love to meet others with the name! I can see her being spunky or being more introverted and loving to read books
I prefer [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] as a nickname. [name_f]My[/name_f] best friendās sister is [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] but it just never felt like a full name to me.
Surprised [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] is still popular. While I can see it on a child, itās starting to fell like a āmomā name now
While the name is not for me, I can Poppyās appeal. [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] feels fresh in the US but is quickly getting popular trying to catch up to its rank in the UK and Australia (similar to Phoebe). I imagine a spirited and spunky child and think it will be cute to meet one.
For [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], I like the association with [name_f]Artemis[/name_f]. [name_f]My[/name_f] first introduction to [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] as a name was Holdenās younger sister in [name_m]Catcher[/name_m] in the [name_m]Rye[/name_m] so that is my main association followed by Friends tv show
Overall [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is my favorite but would be thrilled to meet [name_f]Ruby[/name_f], [name_f]Poppy[/name_f], and [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]!
