I found Lumen (Latin for light) categorized as a boy’s name on another site, but I know Lumen was used as a female character’s name on [name]Dexter[/name]. [name]Do[/name] you think it is a boy’s or girl’s name?
I would say female. Can’t say I like it much though. Reminds me of the insides of arteries and atherosclerosis and kidneys and all the human biology stuff I did at sixth form 
I love the name Lumen. I really could see it working for either sex, but I personally prefer it used for females. I personally like how it sounds strangely scientific. It sounds both warm and mysterious to me.

Something about Lumen just sounds “dirty” like a name for a lubricant, so I can’t see it working on a real person…
It’s also not really a name, it’s a unit of measurement, it’s like naming your kid Inches or Feet.
BUT I guess if I had to choose, probably better on a girl than a boy.

My first thought: catheter lumen
It’s way too sciency of a name for me to like on either a boy or a girl. I do like the suggestion of Lumi (for a girl).
