Luna and Luther?

[name]Luna[/name] and [name]Luther[/name] as siblings? Are they too matchy in sound? Or are they too different stylistically? [name]Do[/name] you think they are fine together? We took it off the list because we felt that they are too matchy, but I am having a hard time letting go of it. [name]Both[/name] my first and middle name are linked to the moon ([name]Cynthia[/name] [name]Celina[/name]), and I love the association!

What are you thoughts!? Maybe as a middle name?

I actually think [name]Luther[/name] and [name]Luna[/name] would be perfect together! They are very different names, they just have the first syllable in common.
I too love the link it would have to your own name. And [name]Luna[/name] is so cute. I could absolutely see you with a little [name]Luna[/name].

(And (to me anyway) the moon, moonlight in the sea, nighttime and all that is serenity. So a link to your little angel as well.)

Personally I think they’re too matchy but I love the connection with the moon for you. Some other names that have a connection to the moon…

Aiday- moon child, Kazakh
[name]Ariel[/name]- Uranus’ moon
[name]Ayla[/name]- moonlight, halo in Turkish
[name]Aylin[/name]- moon halo in Turkish
Aysel- moon stream in Turkish
Aysun- as beautiful as the moon in Turkish
[name]Diana[/name]- roman goddess of the moon
[name]Hala[/name]- halo around the moon in Arabic
[name]Helen[/name]- Possibly related to [name]Selene[/name]
Mahon- related to the moon in Persian
Marama- [name]Goddess[/name] of the moon in Polynesian mythology
[name]Phoebe[/name]- Phoibe was a Titan associated with the moon
[name]Artemis[/name]- goddess of the moon
[name]Rhiannon[/name]- goddess of the moon
Senay- [name]Merry[/name] moon in Turkish
[name]Shashi[/name]- traditional name for the moon in Sanskrit
[name]Tanith[/name]/[name]Tanis[/name]- Phoenician [name]Goddess[/name] of the moon and stars

All that being said, if you really love [name]Luna[/name] it isn’t a bad name just a little matchy with [name]Luther[/name] for my taste

Awe! I didn’t even think of it that way.

@Alexa400 - I mentioned [name]Artemis[/name] and [name]Diana[/name] to hubby a while back and he wasn’t on board. Maybe I can sneak them back on the list. I especially like [name]Artemis[/name]!

I think they are too matchy, but that’s a personal preference. My nieces are [name]Nora[/name] and [name]Nina[/name]. It’s doable, but if you plan on having a 3rd child, I wouldn’t unless you plan on naming her [name]Lucy[/name] or him [name]Luke[/name]. It’s just to much for me, but fine for someone else.

I know that matching initials isn’t for everybody, but I don’t see a problem with two L names, [name]Luna[/name] and [name]Luther[/name] are great!
