I think that [name]Lunette[/name] might age better than [name]Luna[/name], but the meaning is also “little moon” so it’s also really super cute for a little girl!
I like [name]Luna[/name] better. It’s simpler and sweet. [name]Lunette[/name] is fine, but I personally prefer [name]Luna[/name].
I much prefer [name]Luna[/name]. [name]Lunette[/name] sounds like an adjective to me.
I think [name]Luna[/name] would age better than the somewhat cutesy [name]Lunette[/name]. Also, I really don’t like some of the French definition of [name]Lunette[/name] either (lunette des cabinets means “toilet seat”, les lunettes mean “eye glasses/spectacles” and lunette arrière means “rear window”).
[name]Lunette[/name] sounds like a form of birth control to me. [name]Luna[/name] is beautiful.
[name]Lunette[/name] is a brand of menstrual cup. I’m not sure it has the best association.

I just looked it up. I never heard of it. It is a very uncommon thing so I’m not too concerned…
But it does look like [name]Luna[/name] is more in favor… My fiance’ just has a hard time picturing an 60 year old woman named [name]Luna[/name], haha
Lunette is the word for glasses in France, it’s not actually a name. It has a lot of other uses such as rear window of a car, the hole you stick your head through on a guillotine or toilet seat (lunette des toilettes). I hope this doesnt come across as harsh, I know from experience it stinks to find out a work you like for a name isn’t actually a name or very usable given it’s connotations.
FWIW I think Luna is a sweet name.

Sure, but we don’t live in [name]France[/name], we live in [name]America[/name], I doubt anyone will know the connections unless they are French. Plus lunettes is glasses, not lunette…
You can “claim” lunette isn’t name, but I can say the same about [name]Juniper[/name] and [name]Willow[/name]. They are plants, but people use them as names all the time even though I don’t. To me they are plants.
[name]Lunette[/name] literally means “little moon” and that’s all that matters to me. I’m just trying to see which one sounds/looks better and is more popular.

I think [name]Lunette[/name] would be often confused for “[name]Lynette[/name].” Of the two, I guess I would have to go with [name]Luna[/name], although having taught Latin, it sounds like you are naming your baby “moon.” So, Unless you are going for 60’s sounding, I would choose option “C.”

Lunettes means ‘glasses’ in French… [name]Luna[/name] gets my vote for sure. On top of that, I actually like [name]Luna[/name] and it doesn’t make me think of glasses or the Big Comfy Couch. I think [name]Luna[/name] is sweet.
