Which name is best? I cant decide between the two. I like that [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] is less common but [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] is so beautiful too. Need some opinions.
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] by far. [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] is so common to my ear that it has lost all of its appeal.
[name_f]Sophia[/name_f] may be VERY popular but I still think it’s prettier, more feminine, and feels more glamorous than [name_f]Lydia[/name_f]. As in, I imagine a [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] to have a more exciting and spunky personality than a demure [name_f]Lydia[/name_f]. Not sure why this is… [name_f]Lydia[/name_f]'s my middle name and I do think it’s pretty, but it seems a bit placid and dull. I don’t know any Sophias in person though, just hear it a lot in public and stuff, so maybe that’s why.
I would vote for [name_f]Sophia[/name_f]. Yes, it’s very common, but for a good reason!
I much, much prefer [name_f]Sophia[/name_f]. As others have stated, [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] is popular for a reason. I slightly prefer [name_f]Sophie[/name_f]/[name_f]Sofie[/name_f]. I had [name_f]Sofia[/name_f] on my list, while testing the name out, I realized that I said [name_f]Sofie[/name_f] more often. So I have [name_f]Sofie[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] on my list.
I prefer [name_f]Lydia[/name_f]. It has a lighter gentler feel for me than [name_f]Sophia[/name_f].
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]! [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] is very popular
[name_f]Sophia[/name_f] is very beautiful but also very popular - would you be bothered about her sharing her name with so many? If you do then I guess [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] is the one for you. If I were to choose between the two I would go with [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] because it has such a lovely, sweet charm about it.
I’d go with [name_f]Lydia[/name_f], it’s such a beautiful name!
Neither name is a fave of mine but I would go with [name_f]Lydia[/name_f]. I prefer the friendlier [name_m]French[/name_m] version of [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] to the overdone [name_f]Sophia[/name_f]. Personally, I wouldn’t want to subject any daughter of mine to the possibility of having to use [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] “insert surname initial here” through most of her school years. That issue would grow tiresome very quickly.
I prefer [name_f]Sophia[/name_f]. [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] reminds me of someone I knew trying to say ‘lid of your’ but they had a cockney accent (or something similar, I’m not completely sure) so that kind of ruined the name for me.
[name_f]Sophia[/name_f] and [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] are too popular (I should know, I’m a [name_f]Sophie[/name_f]!). I much prefer [name_f]Lydia[/name_f], its sweet and pretty! x
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] is one of my favorites!
I like [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] as a first name and [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] as a middle name.
I prefer [name_f]Lydia[/name_f]. I’ve never been on the [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] bandwagon though; I find it to be just okay.
[name_f]Sophia[/name_f]!! It’s my daughter’s name and I love it! I like [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] and hubby and I considered it as well. But the beautiful [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] won out It’s just a sweeter sound to my ears!
Definitely [name_f]Lydia[/name_f]. [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] is pretty, but I know a million Sophias.
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f], hands down. It’s one of my favorites!
