Thoughts?
I’ve been watching a modern adaption of Pride and Prejudice ([name]Lizzie[/name] [name]Bennett[/name] Diaries) and its the first time I’ve actually liked [name]Lydia[/name] as a character and changed my views of the name.

I think regardless of the character, [name]Lydia[/name] is a fine name.
I really like [name]Lydia[/name]
I love [name]Lydia[/name]!! It’s one of my top names:) I can see it working on any type of girl, it has a vintage-y ring to it but without being really old ladyish i think.
I love [name]Lydia[/name]. It sounds so rich and worldly.
I like [name]Lydia[/name], but I’ve never been able to get over the association with [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Bennet[/name]. That’s not a problem for the majority of people, though.
I love the name [name]Lydia[/name]. It took me a while to love it though. I was trying to find names that start with L for my next if it is a girl. Our last name starts with a L and I love alliteration. The only L names we had on our list was [name]Lacey[/name], and since a lot of people seem to think [name]Lacey[/name] is trashy and dated, I kept looking. [name]Lydia[/name] is the perfect blend of classic and fresh. I am a huge P&P fan and that kind of taints my love of [name]Lydia[/name], but I also am a huge Beetlejuice fan (had a neon green Beetlejuice lunchbox in grade 1!) and that seems to improved my love of the name [name]Lydia[/name]. I haven’t mentioned it to hubby yet though, so we will wait and see.
I don’t love [name]Lydia[/name]…can’t get over the whole Pride and Prejudice thing…
[name]Lydia[/name] has always seemed a bit dated to me… the only Lydias I know are women in their 40s, it seems. I’m also not a huge fan of the prominent “lid” part of it, I just think of lids on containers haha. But I think it’s a fine name, just not for me.
I read an amazing book as a pre teen whose heroine was named [name]Lydia[/name]. I don’t remember the name or plot of the book, but I remember the character and will always love the name because of her. I think it’s an absolutely gorgeous name!
I love [name]Lydia[/name]… I have a cousin named [name]Lydia[/name] and she goes by Lyd, although [name]Dia[/name] would be cool too. When she was little, we called her Lyddie-Bitty… It’s cute and has energy. It’s not a girl who sits on the sidelines… I like that about a name…
[name]Lydia[/name] was pretty popular over here in the late nineties. It climbed to fiftyish and has been tailing off ever since. I’ve known a few Lydias. The one I knew best went by Lyds most of the time.
I do love [name]Lydia[/name], but she’s never been up at the tippy top of my top 10 list because I can’t forget the [name]Jane[/name] [name]Austen[/name] association (and yes, I suppose I could get over it, but [name]Jane[/name] [name]Austen[/name] is one of my favorite authors and I reread her works all the time so it’s always fresh).
I used to have [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Grace[/name] on my list. [name]Lydia[/name] is beautiful and sounds very old-fashioned and conservative to me. I know an Amish woman who named her baby [name]Lydia[/name] in 2010 or 2011, so now I associate [name]Lydia[/name] with the Amish community.
