Lydia

I recently re-added [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] back to my list. [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] was my old combination and it is still my #1 [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] combo. I decided to come up with some backups just in case and would love some thoughts on them.

[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Coraline[/name_f]

[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] is gorgeous! [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] is my favorite, followed by [name_f]Coraline[/name_f]. [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] is pretty as well, but I feel like the d’s in both names interrupt the flow of the combo.

I like [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] best. I think [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] complements [name_f]Lydia[/name_f]'s fun, energetic, bright side really well and has a good flow. I do love [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f], but I don’t think it flows as well, and feels a touch serious and grounded with [name_f]Lydia[/name_f].

I love [name_f]Lydia[/name_f]!

I love [name_f]Lydia[/name_f]. From yours I like [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] best, I have [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Constance[/name_f] in my list currently, but also like [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Gwenyth[/name_f].

It’s a bit close to Chlamydia for me!

Unfortunately, I have to agree. I attended school with a [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] who, due to several well known incidents, was referred to largely as [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] Chlamydia throughout high school and beyond. Now it’s all I think of when I hear the name.

Sorry if there is any confusion! I’m not looking for thoughts on [name_f]Lydia[/name_f]. I understand people have different opinions/experiences with the name, but I just want thoughts on the back up middles.

I like [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Coraline[/name_f] best.

[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] both have the same vowel sound in the first syllable which for some reason irks me. [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] is beautiful even though one contains “lid” and the other “lind”. Very close-sounding.

I would love to hear more thoughts!

I’m hoping for a [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Eileen[/name_f] myself…
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] is my favorite of your 3. I like the similarly, as one [name_u]Berry[/name_u] pointed out, between the “Lyd” and “lind”. It makes the name sound tailored, not cutesy or gimicky.
Our styles vary- personally I wouldn’t consider those 3 middle names but here are some we may agree on:
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Bernadette[/name_f]- despite 6 total syllables, the name doesn’t sound long and drawn out like you were trying to christen a princess. [name_f]Bernadette[/name_f] doesn’t share any of the same sounds as [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] and the -ette ending is rather unique in the sea of female names ending in a.
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Colette[/name_f]- 5 syllables instead of 6 makes the name a little shorter but just as lovely. [name_f]Colette[/name_f] is on the popularity charts unlike [name_f]Bernadette[/name_f], but with [name_f]Colette[/name_f] you’re given ties to the [name_m]French[/name_m] author in this tailored names. Not just because they start with the same letter but [name_f]Colette[/name_f] reminds me of a frills-free version of your [name_f]Coralie[/name_f].
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Jessamine[/name_f]- this middle wouldn’t be my pick but it seems to flow with some of your choices- feminine, longer, and ending in a way uncommon for a majority of women’s names. [name_f]Jessamine[/name_f] is floral too- meaning [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] in (I believe) Persian

That’s not to say that some names that do, or could end in a, wouldn’t compliment [name_f]Lydia[/name_f]. Other names that sound exquisite paired next to our Greek beauty are as follows:
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] or [name_f]Evangelina[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Avalon[/name_f] (getting mythical here)
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Alexandria[/name_f]- normally I wouldn’t recommend 2 names with the same exact ending or a common name when the names on your list are anything but. However there is both geographical and biblical significance in the 2 place names making for a fitting combination.
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Magdalena[/name_f] or [name_f]Magdalene[/name_f]- this middle seems to both fit and stray from your “theme”. It is unusual but it is feminine without bleeding pink hearts and rainbows .
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f]

[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] is my favorite from your list. My personal [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] combo is [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Florence[/name_f] [name_f]Moon[/name_f]. (I also like it without [name_f]Moon[/name_f].)

They’re all beautiful

I love the name [name_f]Lydia[/name_f], but it’s my daughter’s name (her middle name is Beatrix), so I’m partial. [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Coraline[/name_f] is so beautiful! I also love Lainey’s suggestion of Lydia Florence.
